SHARP ANNOUNCES EXPENSE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE FOR ZAURUS MAHWAH, N.J., January 1996 -- Sharp Electronics Corporation announces the availability of Expense Manager® add-on software for the Zaurus keyboard-enhanced personal digital assistant (K-PDA). The new software (ZR-5P01) takes advantage of the pen- and keyboard-based Zaurus Graphical User Interface allowing mobile professionals to easily record, manage and examine expenses with the Zaurus. With Zaurus Expense Manager software, users can quickly capture expense information and fax or e-mail expense data to their offices from the road, reducing the paperwork and hassles associated with keeping track of receipts when traveling on business. Once collected, expense information also can be transferred to a PC or Macintosh® computer and automatically imports into a Microsoft Excel® spread sheet. "Zaurus Expense Manager software makes tracking expenses as simple as a touch of the pen or a stroke of the keyboard," said Mary Repke, director, Sharp Consumer Business Product Group. "This add-on software takes full advantage of the Zaurus synergy graphical operating system to simplify the hassle of tracking expenses." Expense Manager allows users to tailor lists of their expenses to create the categories and payment types that suit their individual needs. Category totals for business expenses, such as airfare, mileage and telephone, are automatically totaled. This allows executives to easily compare expenses accrued with their allotted budgets. International travelers can customize Expense Manager software with foreign currencies and exchange rates. Multiple expense reports can be maintained simultaneously. Expense Manager Software for the Sharp Zaurus is available now.
