Sharp Begins Shipping Zaurus Application Partner, Simplifying Data Sharing
With Windows Applications

NEW YORK, June 18, 1996 -- Sharp Electronics is now shipping Zaurus
Application Partner, which lets users of the Zaurus keyboard-enhanced PDA
easily exchange data with Windows applications.  Zaurus Application Partner,
a software and infrared adapter bundle, avoids complications users of other
PDAs typically encounter when swapping data with many popular Windows
applications, such as navigating file directories and choosing file formats.

Zaurus Application Partner includes Clipboard Link software for Windows,
which quickly and easily transfers Zaurus data to notebook or desktop PCs.
Users simply select data in a Zaurus file, and by pressing a single button,
transmit it via infrared beam to the Windows Clipboard.  That data then can
be moved into virtually any other Windows application.  The process also lets
users select text and data from most Windows applications, copy it to the
Windows Clipboard and beam it directly into Zaurus.

Zaurus Application Partner also includes Zaurus Data Exchange Utility, which
allows users to transfer files in standard formats such as Rich Text Format
(.RTF), Comma Separated Values (.CSV), Plain Text (.TXT), and Bitmap Format
(.BMP) in both directions between Zaurus and a PC.  Zaurus Data Exchange
Utility offers flexible field mapping, allowing users to exchange data
between Personal Information Managers (PIMs) running on a PC and Zaurus, even
when default fields are inconsistent.  The software also lets users back up
Zaurus information directly onto a PC hard drive, floppy disk, tape drive or
removable media cartridge.

Zaurus Application Partner includes settings for importing Zaurus data to
popular applications such as Act!, Lotus Organizer and Microsoft Schedule+,
and for exchanging data with Microsoft Word and Excel.
