If need to know more try CIS Customer Support After logon on in Terminal modem type: go per which will result in the following menu: Personal File Area PER 1 Brief CATALOG of files 2 Detailed DIRECTORY of files 3 Create & edit files 4 TYPE a file's contents 5 DELETE a file 6 RENAME a file 7 COPY a file 8 Change a file's PROTECTION 9 Upload or download a file 10 PRINT a file ($) 11 Enter command mode Enter choice ! Option 1 provides a list of files in the following format: MES1.TXT BANK.DOC Last page ! Selecting Option 2 provides a list in the following format: Name Blocks Creation Access MES1.TXT 15 22:29 16-Jun-97 16-Jun-97 (4) BANK.DOC 15 22:33 16-Jun-97 16-Jun-97 (4) TOTAL 30 Last page ! Using Option 3 requires a knowledge of CompuServe's text editor program EDIT. Unless you are familiar with it or have the manual "Beware" it is an old style editor circa 1986. Option 4 type a files contents top screen (text only) Option 5 deletes files using the format: DELETE filename Option 6 renames files using the following format: RENAME filename TO newfilename Option 7 copies a file(s) to another file(s): COPY file, file... TO newfile, newfile Note: The number of new files must be the same as the number of original files. Option 8 varies the protection level on a file: Please check with CIS Customer Support, as my documentation of this Option may no longer be valid. (Please see the end of this document for references) Option 9 allows upload/download of files to the Personal File Area. The menu offers the following protocols: File Transfer Protocol 1 XMODEM <<<<<<< Use this with the Zaurus in terminal mode 2 CompuServe B+ and original B 3 DC2/DC4 (Capture) 4 YMODEM 5 CompuServe QB (B w/send ahead) 6 Kermit Enter choice ! Option 10 prints your file remotely on a CIS printer. According to the documentation the file is printed on a 14.875" x 11" computer paper and mailed (US Mail) to the users address. Check with Customer Support. Option 11 places you in command mode. No menus, just a prompt. Unless you know what you are doing, do bother with this one. After all, who needs 128 K of remote storage these days. However, for a Zaurus user I feel it has its uses, provided you stick with the old address system.
