Welcome to my very first (and probably last) Mega-Collection of bitmapped startup-screen images for the Sharp Zaurus! This archive contains 120 (count 'em, one hundred twenty) black-and-white BMP files, suitable for downloading to either the main memory of your Zaurus or an installed SRAM card (if you have one).

The images in this collection are quite diverse -- enough so that almost anyone should be able to find some unique or special image with which to personalize his/her Zaurus -- or dress up his/her faxes or letters. There's something in here to suit every taste -- or lack thereof <g>. At the end of this file I've provided very brief descriptions of each file.

You will need to use either the Windows version of Sharp's Data Exchange Utility (DEU) or some other linking program (like RuppLynx 3.0, once it's released) to download these images to your Zaurus.

How to Download Bit-Mapped Images to Your Zaurus Using the Sharp DEU for Windows via Cable:
1. Unzip the archive onto the hard disk drive of your desktop or laptop computer. You can view any of the images on your Windows computer using the Paintbrush application that comes with Windows or another graphic tool, like Paint Shop Pro. Because this archive contains so many images, you will probably want to preview the images and select a few that you wish to download.
2. With both your desktop/laptop computer and Zaurus turned _off_, connect the two devices using a Zaurus/Wizard (15 pin) to Serial cable.
3. Turn on both devices.
4. On the Zaurus, touch Tools, then PC Link, then Cable, then OK
5. On your desktop/laptop computer, double-click on the Zaurus Link icon.
6. Click on the Import button.
7. When you click on the Import button, the next screen, Import, will open with the first field, Into Application, selected. Press the "s" key on your keyboard, and the application chosen will become Scrapbook.
8. The Import File Format field will also probably change to Bitmap Format (.BMP), but if it doesn't, be sure to select it.
9. Click on the Browse button and navigate to the drive and directory in which you have located the Mega-Collection files. Select the first file you wish to import to your Zaurus.
10. Under Import To, select either the Main Memory or Card Memory radio button. (Leave the Field Mapping box blank.)
11. Click on Import. A dialogue box will appear asking you to be sure your Zaurus is properly linking to your computer and is in PC-Link mode. Once you ascertained that these conditions are met, click on OK. Voila! The DEU should grind away, downloading the image to your Zaurus.

Acknowledgments:
 - FishMate for showing us how it's done!
 - HACKERJIM for uploading the first archive of Zaurus bitmpas. (I don't have the artistic skills of whoever did that one, so I tried to make up quantity what I lack in quality. <g>)
 - DDA1 for sharing Gladys with us. (This is Gladys' first appearance in Windows-compatible format.)
 - The CD-ROM wallpaper clipart collection in Shareware Breakthrough's Programmer's Collection, which provided the images from which many of these were created.
 - Those terrific Zaurus users who hang out on AOL -- we do it all for you! :-)
