1 In this lab exercise, students compared the specific gravity of
four unknown liquids using straw hydrometers. After observing and
recording the action of the hydrometer in each of the liquids, students
were asked to observe the effects of gently combining the liquids in a
prescribed manner. After making their observations and drawings,
students were asked to examine their data and write their conclusions about
the specific gravity, density & buoyant force of each liquid compared
to the other liquids.
