The Bullmastiff
Ceasar
Ceasar was born May 1st 1993 in Chicago Illinois. I had to travel to a bad part of
town to see him. The newspaper ad read as follows: Bullmastiff pups, $300, no papers. I had never seen Bullmastiff pups for only $300, so I
decided to take a friend and go check them out. It was a very hot summer day, June 6th, about 2pm. I drove to a black mans house who had
Ceasars mother, a red brindle bitch, aggressive and big, about 120 lbs solid. His friend owned Ceasar's father, a
big square red-fawn Bullmastiff, about 150 lbs, all muscle.
Neither gentlemen had pedigree papers, but I wasn't planning on showing the dog,
so I didn't concern myself with papers. I looked at the two puppies left, both males. One was a beautiful brindle with stripes of yellow and no
mask, and then there was Ceasar, fawn with no mask.
All the other pups were born with black masks. Both pups were big and square, I had a
hard time making up my mind, I almost bought the brindle pup, but then at the last minute I picked the fawn pup. I already had a 6 mo. old
American Bulldog/Pitbull Cross at home and I thought a fawn dog would be a good contrast to a white dog.
When I brought him home, Tyson, my
American Bulldog/Pit, liked Ceasar right away, they were friends ever since. They never had a serious fight, although they played pretty
rough from time to time.

Best buddies, Ceasar and Tyson
Ceasar grew up to be very loving and loyal to me and feared nothing. He is very leary of strangers, especially big
men, but he likes kids. I was at a craft festival once, hundreds of people all around. Of course Ceasar and Tyson started to draw a crowd, there
are not many dogs like Ceasar so kids always want to look and touch. I didn't notice, but an ugly clown was sneaking up behind me while I
was letting some kids pet Ceasar. As this clown approached he scared some of the kids, and when he got real close to one of the scared
children Ceasar jumped up and grabbed him by his giant neck tie and was going to pull him down when I hollard "stop!". He let go but kept
growling at this clown, who by now was walking and stumbling backwards toward the crowd. I told him that he was an idiot to think that he
could approach and frightened small children while a dog such as Ceasar was standing right there in plain veiw. Needless to say when Ceasar
let out that bark and growl the crowd dispersed as though someone hollard "BOMB!". I had to leave because there were more clowns around
and Ceasar was upset about them being near the kids.
One time at 3 am, Ceasar came running into my bedroom. He never had done this before,
in fact there was a child gate in the laundry room where he and Tyson slept in the summer because it stays cool in there. He cried to wake me
up, so I thought he must have to use the washroom really bad to break that gate and wake me up, then I smelled smoke, something electrical
was burning. It was my washing machine, the motor was shorting out and was starting to burn. I immediantly unplugged it and opened the
windows to air out my house. If Ceasar hadn't brokedown that gate, my house would have surely caught on fire. He sensed something wasn't
right and tried to alert me the only way he knew how.
He's a great dog and my friend, I will truly miss him when his time comes to go. He likes
other dogs but is very game toward wildlife. He's killed racoons , squirrels, rabbits, oppussms, and anything else he can catch, including
stray cats from time to time that happen to make the mistake of wandering on to my yard. I don't encourage this behavior, it's just part of who
he is. The saddest I ever saw Ceasar is when his buddy Tyson died of a rare heart defect last summer. He whined all day and spent the day
looking for Tyson.
It tore me up to see him like this, so two weeks later I came home with a red-brindle 7 wk old female. He didn't know what
to make of her at first, but now they are inseperable and he is his happy self again. Ruby is ten months old now, and Ceasar will not let any
stranger near her. I do not intend on breeding her with Ceasar, she came from champion stock, but she will be Ceasar's friend and playmate.

Molosserworld want to congratulate
the owner of Ceasar. Even if he does not follow the standard
he is still a great Molosser and an outstanding dog.
