(Mo), and Brutus.
It is with the utmost pleasure that we have been asked to introduce
our "golden boy" to the world in this first month of a brand new
millenium. Bred by Lucy Orr & Steve Petersen and born in Fairbanks,
Alaska in January of 1989.
Brutus came to live with us in Florida in April of 1992 following a
TM National Specialty held in San Diego, California, shortly after his
third birthday. It came as quite a shock to him as he stepped out of
his crate and was expecting Fairbanks, Alaska. He was now in Florida!
Avery big climate difference and he noticed it right away. Well, that
was his first step into his big adventure. It took some time to get
acquainted with his "new" family, his new home and certainly the new
climate!

The one very special thing about Brutus that sets him apart from other
TMs is his personality. He is a total "clown" and he just adores
entertaining people. Brutus is "The Ultimate Showman". When he was
being shown before his retirement, he never forgot to "smile" at the
judge returning from the "down & back".
He has been our constant companion; loyal friend, trusting babysitter
and the perfect watchdog for our family, not to mention being a top
show dog.

After Brutus received his ARBA Championship he then went on to gain
his ATMA Championship as well. In 1995 while still living in Florida
we decided to take him to a big ARBA show in New Orleans. It was the
1995 ARBA Invitational Tournament of Champions. The show turned out
to be very exciting, as there were 3 rounds of competition. In order
to stay in the competition your dog's score had to be in the top 3 for
each group. After all three rounds and a beautiful Black Tie formal
dinner, the winners were announced. The honors for the Veteran of the
Year were bestowed on our handsome golden boy. That same year we
decided to drive to Washington, DC for the TM National Specialty and
I had really only entered Brutus in the Best of Breed competition at
the show to support the entry. I did not even enter him in the other
4 shows that same weekend. Well, history was about to repeat itself
again! Brutus was chosen as the Best of Breed for the 1995 ATMA
National Specialty! There were dogs from all over the US and even a
few from Canada who had all come to claim that title, some of the top
TMs in this country. Needless to say, we were so proud of yet another
huge accomplishment Brutus had achieved.
WOW, just writing down all this history brings back so many fond
memories of our days together in the show ring. Brutus was always so
much fun to show and fun to be with. He is constantly looking for ways
to make you laugh.

It is almost impossible to believe but these photos were taken on
12/05/99 at a marina/park near our home. Look very closely at this
handsome boy to see he doesn't have a gray hair on him! He is the
epitome of health and happiness and is 11 years old this month!
To meet him you would never guess he was over 5 years old. He plays
with our family and our 2 other TMs; our 6 year old female "Nadia"
and our 4 year old in tact male, "Mo".
Brutus gets VERY animated at the phrase "do you want to go for a
ride?" He is still the alpha dog in our pack, although he was neutered
at 7 and a half yrs. of age. He is also the official "greeter" at
our front door when someone comes to visit. We certainly hope to have
many more years of joy with him.
We will never be able to Thank Lucy
and Bob Orr enough for allowing our lives to be so enriched by such a
wonderful, loving, kind and noble sprit.
We would also like to Thank
Kre for choosing Brutus as the Dog of the Month for the beginning
of this millenium; he is the first Tibetan Mastiff to be chosen as the
Dog of the Month for Molosserworld!
"Et Tu Brute!"
