When I got Jompe he was far from what I originally had expected.
You see, what I really had wished for was a brindle bitch. But since there was no brindle bitches in the litter the
breeders offered me a fawn male instead. I accepted, and I have never regret the decision. Jome is all that I could
have wishes for in a Mastiff, and more, and he have many times made me proud, especially once, which I will return to further down
on this page, and which is the reason that Jompe is Dog of the Month here at Molosserworld.
Jompe as a puppy, together with his breeder Agnar Skrede at a show.
Jompe has always been the clown of the family. His name, Jompe, is not easy to translate into English but it
would be something like this; to jump in a funny way. Jompe has always been active and playful. He enjoys very much the
company of children, and he is their best friend. His temperament is excellent and steady, and he always is
up for fun or playing. Now in his older days he like very much that we go to our summer cottage, where he
enjoys laying outside in the sun and sleep.
Jompe have been much at dogshows in his younger days, and he have done quite well. He has twice become
BOS at the Norwegian Mastiff Clubshow. One of the times he was beaten only by his litter sister Vilde. At the Norwegian
Winner Show in 1995 Jompe also became BOS, beaten once again by his litter sister. In the Nordic Winner Show of 1998 he
was once more BOS,.....and once again beaten by his "annoying" sister.

only loosing for his litter sister.

And now the reason that Jompe was elected to Dog of the Month for July 2000.
Jompe was out playing with three little girls named Joanna, Anna and Jenny. Jenny was
12 years of age, while the other two girls was 9 years of age.
Anna unfortunatly
did step into quicksand and sunk quite quick. Jompe rushed to the little girl, while
the other two girls tried to call him back. They thought the dog had misunderstood the
situation and wanted to play. But Jompe did not want to play. He took a solid grip with his
mouth in the shoulder of little Anna's jacket and pulled her up from the quicksand and into
safety. When the three girls came running home and told me what had happened, you can bet
that I was real proud of my beloved Jompe.

The above story tells you a little about Jompe's greatness and noble caracter. There are many stories I
could have shared with you, but I am afraid that this page will be too short. But I can tell you a little funny story
about when Jompe made headlines in the local newspapers, without people knowing that it was Jompe.
You see, there was rumours that a wolf had visited the area. The newspapers even did show photographs of the wolf's
footprints. What they did'nt know whas that it was the footprint of Jompe, and it was these footprints that had
started all rumours about wolves.
With this I say goodbye to you all for this time, and Jompe gives a wet and loud bark to all nice looking Mastiff girls out there.
Kristin Bergstrm
Molosserworld want to give Jompe and Kristin the best wishes for the future.
