The Tornjak
Bucak
BUCAK, my dog's pet name, and also my nickname, but my husband wanted that ours dog has this (my) name also.
"Bucak" on Croatian language means something like "chubby, or chubby-cheeked, round-faced" ....
Bucak's real name is CAR BONY-TOR, and he was born at 18th. Nov. 1995, in Bony-Tor kennel,
bred by Mr. Zdenko Cerin. Bucak's mother is CH-HR Bonita, which is the most famous and the most successful
Tornjak bitch ever showed, also the best dam with a lot of extraordinary pups that she have produced.
Bucak won his very first Best of Breed when he was only 15 months old, and competing in the Young Class. It was on CACIB
Zagreb 1997 (spring) among great competition in our National Speciality Tornjak's Show, which was included in the CACIB-show.
Unill that time we hadn't any plans to breed Tornjaks, or to buy more dogs. But we reconsidered, after Bucak started to win almost
every show he entered .......!!! We were so proud on him, and accepted a lot of congratulations, but
sadly some of the more known breeders didn't want competiton, and even if Bucak won show after show, they started with stories about
him; "this dog is bad .....", without any reason. This was the main reason that before four years had passed we bought
our first bitch (Dolly, CH-HR, also and mother of a few Young Ch-Hr), and started with pure love breeding in
small kennel scale at "All-Petrina's"....
Our dogs don't live in crates, but in our home, they share our home and make every our day. They are the best
friends and "baby-sitters" to our two sons.
Sometimes we have litters on our Tornjaks.

Bucak was our very first Tornjak, and he also even is the reason that "All-Petrina's" exist. He came into our life
a cold winter day in January 1996, after a exhausting drive through the mountain. But it was worth-while.
There is no other dog that I ever met with so much devotion and emotionality toward his family like Bucak showed very
early. Bucak never attempted to chew up the house or anything else around, also, he never digged holes in our
garden. He is simply a perfect pet, but he is Champion of Croatia too, and a excellent watch dog. Even in his "puppyhood"
he watched carefully on every strangers that was coming to our home.
He was really a guardian from about the 10th week, and he also guarded our car. Even so he wasn't aggressive toward other dogs
untill he became 18 months of age, and from that age he showed dominant bahaviour only on his own teritory.
Car Bony-Tor, "Bucak", is Croatian Champion and a real legend in his own time. He is well known in Croatia, but also on Internet.
Bucak is the father of some very famous Tornjaks in Croatia, one of them is MARA, Young CH-HR Amarilis Love All-Petrina's.
She was bought by Mr. Marko Medar, President of the Croatian Kennel Union and a famous expert of the Tornjak breed.
Despite that Bucak was very ill when he was only 4,5 months old, he developed into a marvellous dog, who is devoted and
a intergrated part of our family. We couldn't imagine our lifes without Bucak and his females: Dolly, Tina and Bamby.
They make every one of our days happier.
