CONDONING CRUELTY

(Our Crumbling Civilization)

I'm going to gripe, until humans GET A GRIP!

STOP PROTECTING KIDS,
WHO ARE SO CRUEL AND SICK!!

ANIMAL ABUSE, is just a horrible "game" to these!
They are out of control....just do anything they please!
Parents, who condone the evil things that they do,
Just feel it's O.K.....for it didn't happen to YOU!
They should all go to "Decency School",
Along with their nasty child!
Need to learn about compassion, for it's still in style!
Setting fire to helpless animals and trashing many homes,
While their sweet mothers get on their telephones,
And defend their "dimpled darling's actions"...for,
They don't care about decency and compassion anymore!!
CIVILIZATION....in every progressive nation!!!!
Seems to be regressing, at the same rate as inflation!
When PAIN and ILL TREATMENT are just ignored!
Checking their mental ability needs to be explored!!
YOU aren't a respectable human, worthy of our praise,
If you are cruel, in any form...is what decent people would say!
Your BRAIN, HEART, SENSITIVITY are definitely on hold,
Whether animal or human, you must not be cruel and bold!!
Perhaps an ugly, little taste, of the horror, that you do,
Would be a very good lesson, for someone like YOU!
Your selfish "ME FIRST" ways don't seem to understand,
That it is never O.K. to harm an animal or a man!
RESPECT and COMPASSION will go very far,
To prove how intelligent and decent you really are!
So Parents! Brothers! Sisters!....WAKE UP! GET A GRIP!
Don't you realize, that CRUEL KIDS are really VERY SICK?
Do we wait for killing animals, to change to human victims, too?
Are you going to defend everything, that your cruel darlings do?
If this is true, and you protect or ignore, you are as sick as they!
For KILLING and TORTURE are disgusting forms of "PLAY"!
GOD must feel very angry, when HE sees all of our disgusting sin!
No wonder HE shakes HIS FIST and sends powerful NATURE in!
HIS ANGER and HIS LESSONS can so frequently be seen,
In FLOODS, TORNADOES, EARTHQUAKES...
For such uncaring, cruel human beings!!
Many innocent people suffer, right along with you,
All because, you don't care about what you ever do!
We need to protect and cherish, all forms of precious life!
And put an end, to all of this ugly cruelty and strife!
Just ONE helping ONE, adds up to many each day!
We all need to stand up and intervene, in some real way!
It begins, in your own home, family and neighbourhood!
Please teach your offspring to be more kind and good!
When YOU just ignore the cruelty, to an innocent, little pet,
Later, YOU could be the very one to finally get,
A strong dose of injustice and many cruel misdeeds!
Is this performance supposed to help your child succeed?
Are you willing to pamper him and say, that all is well?
While he goes straight down the wrong, bumpy road,
ON HIS WAY TO HELL!!
For if he goes to JAIL, because you didn't know what to do,

Your HEART, MIND and SOUL....
WILL BE IN JAIL, TOO!!!

This poem is my angry response to a true tale, about boys, who took a
person's little dog, out of his backyard ....put him in a bag and set fire
to him. He managed to claw his way out of the bag, so they beat him to
death. Children, who find this amusing and great fun, will grow up to harm
people....for they are desensitized to the pain of others. They need help,
for their mental disorders.

Can it be the violence, that they witness every single day, that destroys
their capacity to have empathy? The NEWS frequently convinces me, that I
live on the wrong planet. We can no longer claim to be "civilized", for our
actions prove, over and over again, that we are not!! My poem will annoy
some people....and they will state, with great sarcasm, that I am an
"Animal Lover"...a "Bleeding Heart"....someone who loves animals more than
I love people....NOT TRUE! I have respect, for ALL LIFE....and disrespect
for INJUSTICE and CRUELTY, in any form and I refuse to apologize for this.

We have a long way to go, before we can say, that we are CIVILIZED. We
cannot expect compassion or mercy for ourselves, when we dish out evil and
pain for others....whether it be animals or humans. The perpetrators are
very aware, that they will not suffer, for the harm they do!! We all need
to GET A GRIP and stop letting the "tail wag the dog"!
