If there was one thing I could take with me from the incredible
country of Vietnam, with all of it's varied culture and traditions, rich
forests and living history, it would be......... (don't laugh)..... the fish!
Yes, I love the fish! That's why it gets the first spot
on my page! Because it is SO good. You don't understand. I liked
it so much - one evening we were in the Vietnam House, and we of course all
ordered fish. Well now, everyone else ate their fish like normal human
beings. Me? I scarfed down mine ,and then when my friends were
finished, I sat there and stole their plates and ate the little leftover
fish bits that they had missed. I ate the bones, I ate the skin, I
probably ate the little pieces my friends had spit back out onto their plates.
Some say that people are destined for something, that at birth
our lives are laid out, we are given a calling. Well, if that's true,
then mine is eating this fish! Mmmmm!!
On the topic of food, here's a great shot of Terry and Michelle
sipping on some fresh coconuts as we sailed down the Mekong Delta.
I generally gag on coconut, but this fresh coconut milk wasn't bad at all.
After several days in the heart of Ho Chi Min City, possibly
the most frantic insane city in the world (especially when trying to cross
the street), this relaxing trip out to a tropical fruit island wasn't bad
at all.
