Congratulations, Jeff! Hope you all get SOME sleep here and there. (Our fourth is due in ca. 2 weeks so, believe me, I feel your pain--and your joy.)

Congratulations Jeff - I went through the same thing in mid December. I'm sleeping now! Good luck. You will be amazed how quickly the time passes. Paul

Miniature, Emily? The doctor had to use a chainsaw for the circumcision.... :-)

He seems to love sleeping right now -- we're keeping our fingers crossed. My daughter had colic and that was _not_ fun at all.

Would anyone like to have lunch in London? I will be there on July 5 and July 6. Email me at [email protected] if you would like to.

If I don't hear from anyone I will know you are all on holidays, too busy, etc.

Is there a UK person who posts who does not live in London?

I'd love to have lunch in London, but unfortunately I won't be traveling there anytime soon. :( Isn't it the thought that counts? :)

Of course, I don't know how you two will be able to manage without a male to guide and protect you.

Without a male to get us lost by saying "We must go that way"! and then keep us lost by refusing to ask directions?

We'll manage quite will, thank you :-)

And for your information, Emily is aquainted with many of the most important gentlemen in the land. Mainly MPs and Dr Who authors...

*Smiles sweetly*

Why thank you Jeff dearest, your tender concern for our wellbeing does you credit. Protection, eh? Protection from whom, pray? From other men? Hmm...if you were afraid of being attacked by rabid dogs, would you hire a rabid dog in the hope that it would protect you from its foamy-mouthed little friends instead of sinking its fangs into you? Well, OK, maybe YOU would, but a sane, well-balanced person such as myself would rather dispense with the supposed protection of dogs, sorry, I mean men. (Id _like_ to say at this point that Im a judo expert who can protect LindaElane from all the perils of London, but as it happens Im a 7 1/2 stone weakling with two dislocated hips, so Ill be relying on HER to protect ME if theres trouble. Just thought you should know that, Linda ;)

As for guidance...have no fear the existence of the A to Z has obviated the necessity for a guide, male or otherwise. I realise that this revelation will rob your male ego of one of the central planks of its raison detre, so please feel free to commit suicide anytime. Though if its any consolation, I think you underestimated the usefulness of the male half of the human race (er...giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming that they ARE part of the human race, of course). Only guides and protectors? What about providers? Do they not hunt the sabre-toothed tiger to provide the tribe with meat? No? Oh well...they are just soooooooooo much better than women at unblocking drains, wouldnt you agree?

Emily, such a negative outlook! To assume that all dogs are rabid would be the same as assuming that all cats are nasty, bitter, ungrateful creatures with an exaggerated sense of their own self-importance.

My gentlemanly nature and debt of gratitude to the lovely LindaElane for inviting me to the old Dragonstone Board in the first place makes me reluctant to cast any general aspersions on females. I mean, they do have their uses.
