Yep, just got it. Had it delivered to my office. Looks much better than the scans.

And comes complete with the new set of maps...

I�m glad I finished it, though. It really let to a relationship crisis, since I used to have my nose in the book in every free minute. There should be a warning sticker on it: "Reading is dangerous to you love-life" or so...

I live in America, and I haven't gotten my book yet either. Today will be the fifth day after it was shipped, so maybe it'll be today. I hope not . I really can't afford the distraction. When I get it, I'm going to lock it in my shell case and give my sister the key, and tell her not to give it back to me until Sunday.

I know, dealing with bookstore people is like sticking your hand in a blender.
They know absolutely NOTHING about books or the publishing industry.
When THE PATH OF DAGGERS came out, I went to the bookstore the day before (October 19, 1998), and asked about the book. The guy told me that he had no knowledge of Book 8 coming out anytime soon. He said that RJ hadn't finished writing it, and they hadn't even decided on a title yet.
Of course, the book showed up in stores the next day, so I guess he was wrong.
They don't know any authors, and if you ask about a title, they always have to check on their computer. If it ain't on the computer, they won't know anything about it. I wonder if any of these jokers have ever picked up a book in their lives. I think for most of them, it's either working in a bookstore or slinging fries at Micky-Dees (I've done both, so I know whereof I speak).
Sad to say, but bookstore employees are less knowledgeable about the book world than the customers they serve.
End rant here.

Okay, I got it! I ordered it the night of Aug 2nd and it went out on Aug 3rd . . . and it's the 9th of Aug . . . in Calif . . . regular mail.
