Rushmore was one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a very smart
laugh a minute with a lot of heart and while I was inspired by it, i was
also torn wondering how the projects I'm working on could be as good.
It's very fresh in that it doesn't apologize for it's absurdity and doesn't
need to. For some reason I didn't question this story of a love triangle
between the highschool kid (name i can't remember) who's grades suffer
because of his fanatical involvement in extra-curricular activities, Bill
Murray as a steel magnate who is drawn to the kid as the son he wished he
had, and the grade one teacher that becomes the object of their mutual
affection.
Bill Murray is exceptional as the embittered man who is looking to salvage
his bad choices with another shot at love. He is brilliant. I don't think
he's had this good of a role since Groundhog
