Seems familiar, isn't it? Bill did Oscar Prediction again! This time, he
even showed discontent with the supporting roles' categories and you know why. And a
rerun of the Swill Commercial.
In 1976, Bill was spotted by his producer Ivan Reitman and the sportscaster Howard Cosell (who recruited him for the cast of his ABC variety series, titled Saturday Night Live With Howard Cosell, a counter program to NBC's Saturday Night Live.
Bill Murray & Chevy Chase
Because of the leaving of Chevy Chase, in 1977, Lorne Michael hired Murray to take his place in the new kind of sketch-comedy TV show - Saturday Night Live.
When Chevy Chase returned a year later to host SNL, Murray and Chase got onto a fight later, in which Murray shouted to Chase, "This is my show now!"
Bill Murray became the original cast of the Not-Ready-For-Prime-Time-Player.

New Kid Bill Murray told audience that he hadn't been at his funniest on the show and that he needed their support.
Along with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, Bill soon was one of the major forces of the most popular show among all Americans.

Bill Murray went on to create such most memorable and favourable character, the Lizard Lounge Singer. The lyrics of Star Wars even becomes his famous song.

Ski Lodge on Meat Loaf Mountain. Bill opens with theme from "2001". Gilda broke her leg walking over to the tow lift, Bill sings her cast: "Don't eat yellow snow." Robert Klein is a celebrity and Nick bugs him asking him about his date etc. Robert calls him a pimp. Dan the snow cat operator arrives with a frozen porcupine he ran over. Bill asks him about the weather. "One thing about Indians, they always know when it's going to snow." Dan answers in broad Irish. Nick ends with rendering of Star Wars theme. After the song, Bill even throws his mic!
Nick does his thing; tryin' to sing, bothering and embarrassing the audience, as well as tryin' to get a sing along that never is. He points out to the audience the little things that no one ever thinks about.
Bill is Nick Summers, the entertainer at Breezy Point Lounge. He sings and ia generally a "fun guy". Bill sings "Happy Anniversary" to John and Gilda. He wants people to dance, but no one dance. When he asks Paul, "Has it happened before?", Paul said, "No." Laraine's husband broke his leg and he's goin' to lay up this week. Dan sells his fish and Bill said, "He's Indian, and they don't lie, I love that!"
