If you want to post adult fic here, you can, but you need to write NC-17 in the ratings category, as well as 'over 18 readers only' or something of the like in the header and by the title. Caps would be prefered. As well, a content warning is needed. 'Explicit sex' or 'graphic violence', or anything else it needs. You need to have an adequete warning. Pairing, if an exclusively Angel/Willow, would also be appreciated, but is not mandatory. I'll be writing up a full list of the requirements for any fic submitted to the list soon. Until then, if you would put title, author, summary, rating, content warning if needed, and disclaimer (I can't stress this one enough) on all your fics, it would save a lot of hassle. Also, I'd appreciate it if you would put a distribution statement on it. I want to be able to assume that all fic going through WillAngel wants to be put up on my site. But until I get confirmation of this, if you would put TPWFLD in the distribution, it would make my life a LOT easier. Just to pacify my own idiotic curiosity (and to start a thread) could you guys come up with reasons that you like the idea of a Willow/Angel relationship? Is it fun? Exciting? Give you a thrill? I'd like to know. Also, do we have any theories (or spoilers?) on what is going to happen this fall? I'm pretty sure Mr. Boreanaz is going to be returning as a regular (this means one *heck* of a finale, guys,) *and* Seth Green is getting added to regular status. Hi! I'm Erin...and I just joined the list (duh, that's why I'm doing the intro, and that's also why you've never heard/seen me b4 [I can be soo stupid!]) Anyhoo I'm a HUGE Willow/Angel fan, and in reply to the last message I just got, I think it's just because 'they mesh'. I have no real specific reason for why I like them together. Plus, it's a nice change from seeing Willow/Oz, and Buffy/Angel. Besides, they complement each other. She's cute, so shy, and quiet, but at the same time full of life, and vibrant, and exciting (in her own way), and smart...and he's smart, drop dead dorgeous!, quiet, brooding...well, they just click-like two pieces of a puzzle. Anyhoo...I'm working on a willow/angel fanfic, and if anyone would like to help me proof, and edit....I'd love the help. (sheepish shrug) I show AQHA circuit, and I have a retired racer (greyhound). I play piano, fiddle, and saxophone. I draw, paint, sew, stuff like that. I like most music..... Ciao! Sorry guys. :( Counterpoint 3B By Melinda S. Dawney Giles wasn't in the library proper when I entered. I detected the quiet sounds of human activity coming from his study. I expected that Giles was probably preparing tea, as was his usual custom. I crossed the library, deliberately making--for me--a racket as I approached. The doors made noise as they swung closed behind me, my feet scuffled on the carpet, and I even set Willow's bag down on a tabletop with an audible thud. As a rule, I usually took Giles completely unaware. I invariably sneaked up on him, no matter how much noise I made. In all fairness, what is noisy for me is unusually quiet for a human. Still, I tried. I made an effort to be detected during my approach. I never frightened the poor Watcher senseless on purpose. I suppose that I could have been louder, but some things are intrinsic to my nature. Stealth is such a deeply ingrained behavior that even the thought of making too much noise makes me nervous. I entered the study and remained in the doorway. My first instinct was to duck into the shadows near the back of the room. I prefer to lurk. I'm good at it; lurking is second nature to me. I suppressed my natural instincts and deliberately remained out in the open. It is not polite to sneak into a Watcher's study and hide beside his bookcase. I'm sure that the reader will agree. I'd established a fairly good rapport with Giles through the summer. In a way, I knew him better than Buffy. I certainly understood the Watcher better than the Slayer. He embraced new opportunities to learn with a sort of intellectual vigor that was astonishing. Our common interest in the occult never left us wanting for something to discuss. I'd passed a fair number of hours that summer speaking with Giles on the phone, and a few in person. I'd been meticulous both about not overstaying my welcome in the library, and not imposing upon Giles' good will. I'm afraid, though, that my various pretexts for seeking out his company were laughably transparent. However, an intellectually stimulating conversation is worth risking face for. So what if I came across as a pathetically lonesome vampire desperate for mature company? My only other options were to hang out at the Bronze, or to see a movie that I'd already watched a dozen times. Giles never objected to my company, although he did tend to become noticeably jumpier when I was about. Still, I'd begun to earn his trust. I'd even received an invitation into his home at one point. It was a fair accomplishment on my part, and a staggering display of trust upon his. Again, guilt assailed me. I'd failed Giles both with my lies and with my attack upon Buffy. If not for those lies, he'd never have trusted me at all in the first place. They had provided me with a veil of acceptability, under which I'd been attempting to truly prove myself. I began to wonder if I was about to undo everything. And, quite honestly, I was scared. Giles' back was to me. He was preparing a pot of hot water and I could tell by his manner that he had not heard me. A cup containing a tea bag sat upon the desk. I sighed and waited patiently. I could have spoken, but experience had shown that doing so would not affect Giles' response either way. He jumped, regardless. Besides, there was no point in taking unnecessary chances with fragile human hands near a hot burner. Giles set the pot down on the heater and turned to me. He knew that I was in the vicinity, so he should have been expecting me. In any case, I scared him senseless. He ground to a shocked halt, his heart redoubling its pace. I heard it skip several beats before it settled back into its natural rhythm, although a tad faster than was normal. Giles exhaled audibly, and I sighed. Oh well, maybe next time. "Y-y-ou never fail to catch me off guard," Giles informed me dryly. "Even when I'm expecting you." Absently, he adjusted his glasses. His gaze was penetrating and expectant. His manner was disturbingly serious, and I immediately picked up on the tension in his rigid stance. It hadn't been there the last time we had spoken in person. I knew that Buffy had told him about last night. Giles had a straight, head-on stare that demanded accountability and possessed the power to make me enormously uncomfortable. I respected him, admired him, and desperately wanted the same in return. From the very beginning, I never quite shook the feeling that Giles saw right past all of my lies and fabrications. I felt as though he saw me for who I really was, and this shamed me deeply. God only knows why he tolerated my presence, or why he allowed me near his precious Slayer. "We need to talk," I informed him bluntly. I cut straight to the chase. There was no point to beating around the bush about this. Trust demands the truth. If I really wanted to earn his trust, then I had to start owning up to the truth. I had to spit this particular Ugly Truth out, or I'd never manage to say it. He straightened, not replying. Again, I saw expectation in his eyes. "I almost killed Buffy last night." There, I'd said it. I tensed, watching his movements like a hawk. Distantly, my mind noted the locations of every potential weapon in the room and calculated his most likely action. I tracked his heart rate attentively; it would be my first warning if he decided to attack. If he went for a weapon, I'd be out of the library before he'd even begun to attack. I'd have felt no shame in running; I'd rather run than kill someone I like. Giles, with all of his training, might have stood a fair chance against me in a fight. But no human can keep up with me when I run, except maybe the Slayer. Giles' gaze was level; his eyes were ice. Such stark strength and raw will are rare. Giles was a predator. For all of his tweed and intellectual airs, Giles was a fellow predator. I recognized and respected him as such. He wasn't a man whom I'd want to cross, but I'd done so. I'd attacked his Slayer. It took all of my strength not to flinch away in guilt. If the reader is experiencing a degree of amusement at the absurdity of a guilt-ridden, foot-shuffling vampire presenting himself for judgment to the Slayer's Watcher, believe me, I empathize. The black humor in this was not lost on me at all. "To hear Buffy tell it, she nearly killed you," Giles replied mildly. I blinked. Surprise nearly knocked me over. I'd expected anything, but that. Why wasn't he angry?! What on earth had Buffy told him? Had she slanted the story to protect me? My heart clenched with hurt. Confusion made my head swim. Last night Buffy had made it quite clear that she hated me. "We nearly killed each other," I acceded. "But I shouldn't have walked up behind her in a graveyard." If he hadn't brought it up, I would have left my injuries unmentioned. With hindsight, I realized that I'd been the transgressor. I'd approached the Slayer unexpectedly from behind. She hadn't heard my approach and had reacted accordingly. Any other response to any other vampire would certainly have meant her death. I'd been a fool, and I'd gotten what I'd deserved. "Q-q-uite true," Giles agreed, sounding slightly edgy for a moment. "It sounds like the two of you had a terrible..." He hesitated, grasping for the right word to describe our altercation. I think that "near-disaster", perhaps, would have been appropriate. Finally, Giles just shook his head and moved on "In either case, I think it best that you relate your version of the tale to me also." Deliberately, he sat down at his desk. I relaxed, no longer expecting an attack. I hesitated, reluctant to begin a discussion that promised to become time consuming. I'd come here to confess about more than just my fight with Buffy. I couldn't allow myself to become distracted. Otherwise, I wouldn't have enough time to finish before Willow returned. Giles gave me an odd look and I decided to just take the plunge without any prefacing. Might as well spit it all out at once and let the cards fall where they would. "There's more," I said. His expression cleared. Again, his face reflected nothing but expectation and watchful patience. Giles had one hell of a poker face. I fidgeted slightly. "I've misled you and Buffy." Damn, misled wasn't strong enough to describe what I'd done. "I've lied." "In what way, precisely?" Let's see... Gypsy curse now...? No, I decided, neither of us was ready for that one yet. "I told the truth when I said that I haven't fed from a living person in a hundred years." Giles nodded, still watching. "But I twisted the truth. I'm still killing. Other vampires." The silence could have cut glass. We were gambling in a high stakes game, and I'd just upped the ante considerably. It took Giles a long time to absorb this new tidbit. He stared at me, his eyes hardening. I was the vampire that he'd come to trust, at least marginally, and I'd just undermined that. I'd just told him that I wasn't any different from the others, except in my choice of meal. I got more and more tense as each moment passed. I scrutinized him, looking for some sort of reaction. Disgust, hatred, anger... Anything. "You're hunting other vampires," he reiterated mildly. I nodded. I didn't offer any explanations or excuses, as I'd done with Willow. There was no need. Giles understood my nature well enough to surmise why. "Why are you telling me this now?" he asked. His manner was still level and unperturbed. I began to think that maybe he wasn't as upset as I'd expected. Either that, or I was in one hell of a lot of trouble. "Willow." His eyebrows rose. "She knows. I killed, last night, in front of her." Even to me, that sounded reprehensible, so I amended my words. "I was trying to protect her. From the Laval." Damn, damn, damn. That still wasn't a lie. I was still telling the truth, just not all of it. As usual. Piecemeal truth is one of my standard misdirection tactics. Why did I feel so damn guilty this time? I'll tell you why. Because this time I was lying to honest, decent people whom I'd come to respect and care for. It's one thing to lie to another vampire, quite another to deceive a friend. "She promised not to tell, but that wouldn't have been right." I turned away; I couldn't handle those eyes of his anymore. "I--" Abruptly, the outer double doors swung open. Xander came rumbling through, making an enormous amount of noise. He was covered in mud from head to toe. Our eyes clashed, and I felt my jaw clenching. He drew himself up, posturing. We exchanged standard glares of male aggression. "Dead boy," he greeted me. I restrained the impulse to flatten him. "Xander." "What are *you* doing here?" he demanded, as if the library were his personal domain and not Giles'. I didn't answer; I didn't owe him any explanations. Behind me, Giles stood. I tensed, wondering if I was about to get a stake in the back. I didn't turn though. Giles pushed past me. "Hey, G-man." "Xander," Giles formally greeted the boy. "Why do you look like you've been wallowing in a pig sty?" he asked. I snickered; Xander glared harder. "Buffy and I had a run-in with some of the fang gang," Xander informed him nonchalantly. "They ruined our date." Pointedly, he gloated, enunciating the word 'date' with extreme satisfaction. I ground my teeth. I silently reminded myself that flattening him wouldn't be fair. The boy wouldn't stand a chance. Besides, it would make the girls angry. With me. "What's Franken-fang doing here?" Xander demanded of Giles, indicating me. I received the distinct impression that Xander remained ignorant of my run-in last night with Buffy. Otherwise, he'd likely have tried to kill me, instead of simply taunting me. Most of the time, I shrugged his insults off. Xander usually wasn't worth the bother of becoming angered. This time, though, I couldn't get past the fact that he'd just stolen Buffy away from me. So I sank to his level, and contemplated removing his windpipe with my fangs. "Angel was just telling me about the Laval," Giles stated. He was clearly impartial in our 'macho display of aggression', as Willow would have phrased it. "They are a relatively rare, relatively elusive clan of vampires," he elaborated, primarily for Xander's erudition. "Oh." "We'll talk more about that other thing later," Giles informed me. He briefly grasped my shoulder on his way by; his grip was firm and friendly. Amazing what such a small gesture can convey. Enduring trust, reassurance that he'd not condemned me, acceptance, support... That simple gesture grounded me, pulling me back from the brink of anger. I nodded my consent, and even smiled my thanks at Giles. He'd just provided me a graceful out. There was no way that I would have discussed such a sensitive topic in front of Xander. My spirits began to rebound. There was still hope. Maybe I was in the doghouse, but the Watcher didn't despise me. Willow still liked me. Hope is as stubborn and as illogical as love. Even if I couldn't be with Buffy, maybe I still had the hope of friendship. **** _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Message: 9 Date: Sun, 16 Aug 1998 16:44:30 -0700 From: Melinda Dawney Subject: Re: Intro, and such. There are a lot of spelling mistakes, probably. (I still can't spell for my life!) I kinda took a lot of freedom here, too. Not very realistic, maybe too trusting, I don't know. So....in warning, it'll probably be pretty bad for my first w/a fic. Bear with me as I learn to write better. (I need the practise, if I'd like to become an author. LOTS of practise.) Here's the first part. (Don't say I didn't warn ya!) WILLOW/ANGEL FANFIC PART 1 "Willow?" A lonely voice called out from the shadows, startling her, "Could we talk?" To him, she had transformed into a beautiful woman, after all those years he had been gone. Like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly, she was now radiant. Or, rather, to him she had always been radiant, but he had only taken the time to notice her once before his disappearance into Hell-and then, it was too late. She spun around, calmer after knowing who hqad been following her, and smiled cautiously, "Sure. Where do you want to go?" After studying him, she noticed his eyes still held the same illusion of mystery, but his body had been racked with emotions, leaving him scared and torn. "The park?" He offered his hand, which she accepted after staring at it for a minute. "How have you been since they got you out?" He bowed his head, and it seemed like he was thinking about what to say, before raising it again to make eye contact with Willow, "Truthfully, I've seen better days. How was your trip?" "Good." She offered him a warm smile, which he returned, before any other conversation was made. She had to know, so she asked, hoping he wouldn't mind, "Have you talked to her since-" "That's why I wanted to talk to you," He interupted, "I tried to talk to her, aftre Giles brought her back, but, she turned her back, and ignored me." "Oh," SHe didn't know what to say, but she knew she had to say something to help him cope, "She might be overwhelmed with the whole situation." "But she let him-" "Who?" "Oz. I-" "Huh?" Angel paused, contemplating issues. "No, it's good that spilled the beans. Really." Angel looked at her in disbelief , but continued with his story, "Giles told me to be at the library, and I was when they arrived, but, so was Xander, Cordelia, and Oz," He recalled that day's events, "She embraced Oz last. It was when she saw me. She started to cry, and Oz just held her until she stopped." Silence. "Should I go on?" "Please." He nodded, "He drove her home, and from what he suggested, he picked her up the next day, and they 'hung out'. To help her relax, or something. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have told you that. But it bothered me so much, especially because it seemed off." "I wish Oz had told me about that." "You haven't spoken to him since?" "I had been away, I just assumed he didn't know...." She studied his face, "What aren't you telling me." "What do you mean?" She whimpered after a while, not really wanting to know the truth, but at the same time, she knew that she had to find out. "I don't want to hurt you, but, it was like she was using him to hurt me. But he didn't seem to care. He secretly liked her, or soemthing. I don't want you getting hurt." "Like she used Xander that time aftre she came back from LA?" "Yeah," He winced, and silence fell between them. "Okay." She had wondered why Buffy had been avoiding her, ever since her first day back. And, when they did talk, she seemed so distant, but she had just chalked it up to the traumas her friend had been through over the months, "Thanks for telling me," She then checked the sky, noting how in the horizon, it was slowly starting to change color, "I better get home." "I'll walk you. Hungry vampires become desperate at this hour." "Will you make it in time?" "I hope so." They stood up, and walked out of the park hurriedly, side-by-side, in silence. She had no idea on what to say to him, and he was experiencing the same. When they approached her house, he said, "I better not be seen walking to yor door," He smiled darkly, "The neighbours might wonder." "Let them wonder." "You sure?" "I was talking with an old friend," He raised his eyebrows quizzically, in such a way that made her heart melt, without her even really knowing what was racing through her system, "It's the truth." "Yes, it is, but, you know..." After trailing off, he picked up again changing the subject, "I'm sorry for telling you about that. I mean, it might not even pan out to anything, but I felt like I owed it to yuo, to tell you. It involves you, and you have a right to know. That's why I had to find you, to talk." "YOu don't need to explain. I understand why you thought you should tell me, and tonight, I'll talk with both of them...seperately," She lifted his chin up, so she could look into those eyes that locked away his true emotions, "I think you should talk to Buffy." "I don't think there's anything left to discuss, I killed Jenny, and come to think of it, why are you talking to me?" "I don't need to explain that." "Anyway, I better get inside, befroe they notice that I never came home, and," She looked up at him and smiled, "Don't you get dusted." "I'll run home." She smiled, and walked up the path to her front door, "Will I see you tonight?" SHe quietly called to him, "I'll be there if you need me." She nodded, smiled, and then entered the house. And then, Angel ran for his apartment. "Oz?" Willow called to him as she chased him through the school's crowded Monday hall, "Oz?!" "OZ!?" "Huh?" He spun around, "Oh, hey Willow. What's up?" "Can we talk?" She motioned towards a table, in the center of the huge assembly area, "I mean, if you're not busy." "Sure. What about?" She didn't say anything until they were both seated, and then, she blurted out, "Do you love Buffy?" "Wh-whoa, where did that come from, Will'?" "I was just told that you guys went out last night and-" "Chill, alright?" Willow was shaking. SHe was scared to know the answer, "What's up? People are telling me you're hanging around her soo much, and if you want to be with her, fine, I'll-" He stood up, "We don't need to have this talk. She just needed a friend." He left the area, leaving her alone, wondering what happened. "Willow?" "Hi." She didn't even turn around to greet her old friend, "How's life?" "Snyder let me back in school." "That's good," SHe glanced at her watch, and then said, turning this time to face her, "Um, I have to go prepare for a class." "Bye." Buffy called timidly. Willow was too nerve wrecked to give an audible reply. She just wanted to hide. Thankfully, there was only one class left, but she didn't know how she'd survive it. She just wanted to go to the Bronze, and allow herself to get lost in the crowd. Maybe she wanted to talk to Angel, or maybe she just wanted peace and quiet. She continued walking; past the class she had next, past her locker. She thought to herself, as she pushed open the school doors, and left the building, headed home-something she never did before, but she needed to escape. "Will I see you at the Bronze tonight?" Xander asked over the phone. He had noticed her absence, and was genuinely worried. "Yeah, I'll be there." "'Kay, bye." "Bye." She flopped down on her bed, and let her thoughts wander. She didn't know where this would lead. If Angel was only overly cautious, and this was only a rumor, she wondered if Oz would be able to put this all behind him. But, if it was true, she knew, deep in her heart, as much as she thought she loved Oz, she didn't think that they could stay together. She didn't even know how this would affect her relationship with Buffy, and at the moment, it was too much to fathom. They barely talked now. In fact, she never talked to anyone much. Except Oz. She had obviously changed so much, and from what Xander had said, the light in her eyes was gone. Willow had only returned to days ago, on Saturday, and hadn't gotten around to talking to anyone, until Sunday, when she went to the Bronze with Xander to talk. He was concerned for Buffy, but he didn't mention her bonding with Oz. She reflected, watching the sun filter its last rays through the branches of the tree that stood planted in her front yard, and into her room. She opened her closet, and tried to find something to wear. After a few minutes, she decided on a nice shirt that went with a pair of corduroy flares that Cordelia had given her for her birthday. She slid into her favorite mules, and then proceded to brush her hair. When she was finished with that task, she looked down at her cosmetics bag, wondering what a little makeup could do. She opened the bag, and stared at the little packages that Buffy had purchased for her for her birthday, saying something about her being older, and that makeup was great sometimes, but Willow never listened, saying that she was never bold enough, or that she wasn't pretty enough to wear it. Buffy always scoffed, and now, when their frndship was on the line, she felt like it was neccessary to at least try it. She mused quietly, as she aplied a sheer shimmer eyeshadow to her lids, and then, a tinted lip-gloss. It wasn't much, but it sure made her look different. "Hello?" A voice called through an open window on the first level, near the front door, and she instantly recognized it as Angel's, "Willow?" "I'll be right down." She checked herself once more in the mirror, before grabbing her bag, and heading down the stairs. She opened the door, and saw an injured Angel. His forehead wasa graced with a gash, which was still fresh, and blood trickled down the side of his face, "Angel! Get in here now, so I can clean that up!" He obediently complied, like a puppy dog. She marched into the bathroom on that floor, and opened the cabinet, retriving a first aid kit. She cleaned the wound, and then, continued to dress it, "You don't have to-" "Angel, it doesn't look pretty." She finished, closed the kit, and stowed it away again, "There," She said, and then asked, "Why did you come here?" "To escort you to the Bronze." He replied curtly, "What makes you think that I need escorting?" His eyes peirced her soul, "I don't want you getting hurt." "Like you did a few minutes ago?" He smiled slightly, "I crashed into a low tree branch." Willow chuckled, "Had to be fun. You must've been in a hurry, huh?" No reply. He studied her face, "You look different, even more than last night-" "Maybelline. I wasn't born with it." She refered to the ad, "Yes, you were. Any guy's a fool for not seeing your beauty." He quietly spoke, touching her soul more than anyone ever could. She mused, before saying, "Thanks." Silence. "We better get to the Bronze, huh?" "Yeah, I have some talking to do." They exited the house, right after Willow left a note for her mother, saying where she'd be. They walked the way in silence, Willow not knowing what to say to the vampire, and Angel being a nervous wreck. Conversation was left to a minimum. Until they got to the Bronze, that is. "You want me to lurk outside?" "You should talk to Buffy." She saw him hang his head, but she continued, "If I can talk to my werewolf of a boyfriend, you can talk to her." "You're right." "Exactly. Now let's stomp in there, and do what we have to do." "Yes, ma'am." He saluted her, making her smile, laugh, and blush, "Well, let's go." He studied her face, which showed signs of distress. They walked through the door, and into the darkened dance club. There was a good band playing, they both noted, as they weaved their way through the crowd, to the Slayerettes usual table. No one was there, so they turned, and studied the dance floor. "OH my......." Willow trailed off, and Angel noted the pained look on her face, so he followed her gaze. They saw Oz, and Buffy, slow dancing together, "I've seen enough, and I don't think we have to talk." Buffy looked up, and saw them, but made no effort to conceal their actions, or to explain. "I'm with you on that one." Angel replied, as he guided her outside. Once outside, she collapsed, crying. Angel held her up, hugging her close, to offer her some sort of security, "I"m sorry." "Well, I'm sorry for you, too. Buffy-" "I knew it was over between us. I just feel so bad for you-" "Don't." "Let's go." "Okay," He paused, handing her his hankerchief, "You want ice cream?" She giggled, drying her tears with it, "Okay. Will you eat some?" "I could." He looked down and smiled, "Have you ever been to that little place by the beach?" She nodded, "Only once." They turned, and walked down the alley, when they heard a shrill, "Stop!" that could only belong to Buffy. They spun around, and saw her with Oz, "Wait!" Willow looked up at Angel. He looked so upset. Oz was trying to make eye contact with her, to see what she was thinking, but she was so upset, she couldn't bear to look at either of them. Willow tugged at the back of his shirt, trying to send him the signal, and he picked up on it, knwoing himself that he couldn't stay. She looked up at him, and nodded. They spun around, and walked off. She giggled after they were out of sight, which surprised Angel, "Why are you laughing?" "I don't know," She tried to stop, "I've never done anything like that before in my life. I've never walked off. Ever." She looked up, into his face, and found relief, as he started to chuckle, "You can find this funny?" "WEll, you're laughing." She pouted, "I don't know why I"m laughing," He found that even funnier, "I haven't luaghed in so long-" He tried to stop, but he coudln't. Willow found that even funnier, and despite the harsh blow they had both recieved a few minutes ago, they stopped, and were doubled over laughing. After a few minutes, they regained control of themselves, and proceded to walk, "Thanks. I haven't laughed like that in a long time." "Come to think of it, I haven't ever seen you laugh like that. You've always been the Cryptic Guy.....who didn't laugh." "I don't know what came over me-" "I like to laugh when I'm angry, it relieves stress." She nodded, very matter-of-factly. "So if I make you angry, and yuo start to laugh, I know I'm in trouble?" "Exactly, mister." She poked him in the ribs, and then had to ask this question, "Why are you being so nice to me?" "What?" It had cuaght him off guard, "Well, you're so old," She heard him laugh, "And mature, you could have any girl you want with your amazing good looks, and hanging around me isn't helping much-" "Willow, would you please stop doing that?" "Stating the truth?" "No, discrediting yourself," He paused, searching for the right words, "You are one of the nicest people I've ever met-" "You do it too," She pointed out, "So what's the difference? Besides, I'm no Buffy. Every guy I've ever worshipped was stolen by her. Xander, you, Oz-" She shut herself up. Silence, "Angel?" "You don't deserve me." "What?" "I thought about that before." He stopped talking about it, since they had recahed the ice cream parlor, "What flavour?" "I can pay-" "My treat." She smiled, "Okay, then......." SHe squinted, reading the list of 50 flavours, "Hoofprints." He ordered a double scoop of that for her, and then he ordered Tiger, for himself, "Here you go," He handed the cone to her, and watched her take the first bite, "Good?" "Very. YOu wanna try?" "No thanks, I got my own." He laughed, as she watched him take a bite, impressed that a vampire coul eat like a normal person, "What?" He choked on his ice cream, watching her watch him, "Nothing." SHe turned her head, and took a bite of her ice cream. "Angel?" "Uh huh?" "What did you mean by saying you had thought of 'that' before?" He didn't say anythign at first, but, when he looked down, and saw her staring up at him expectantly, he gave in, "Well, I thought about......us," She widened her eyes, as he continued, "But, I didn't want to put you in such a position, that if for some reason I had lost my soul, yuo'd be in so much danger, and I knew I'd end up killing you. Like I tried to do with Buffy." "But-" "No, I care about you too much to put yuo through that. SHe coul handle herself. I knew that much." Her heart melted, "Angel, I don't quite know what to say, so if I say something inappropriate, stop me, okay?" "Okay-" She gathered all her courage and strength to admit something that she hadn't told anyone, ever, "Well, I've liked, no, adored you for as long as I can remember, but I respect you as a friend more, and I respect your choice-whatever you think is best, I'll go along with, and somehow, I feel compelled to say thank you, even though-" "Willow." She blinked, "What?" "You dont' have to say anything." He wrapped an arm around her, "I understand. And, I hope we can still-" "No problem." "I should get you home." "Thanks." They walked the rest of the way in silence, until they were stopped by Buffy, and Oz. "We need to talk, Angel." Buffy spat out, while Oz said the same thing, to Willow. She looked up at ANgel, and nodded, walking off to Oz, leaving Buffy and Angel alone. "What do you want to talk about? How you-" He took her heand, which Willow instantly pulled back, "Shh, Will', I want yuo to know that nothing happened, and I want you back." "It looked like there was something going on there." "There wasn't." "I just don't know if I could ever have you back, because, after this I can't trust you." "Why not?" "I don't want to talk about it." "Will', I love you so much," He said, "You're cool, you're smart, and you still hung around when I found out I was a werewolf. This has nothing to do with Buffy-" "Yes, it does," She said, "This just means you'd rather be with her, and I should've known better. Once a guy gets to know me, he sees her, and-" "Willow-" He pleaded, "Please-" "I don't want to talk about it," She said, "You don't even need to think it over, 'cause it is OVER. I don't want to be hurt again, by a guy who picks Buffy over me." "This isn't the issue." "I think it is. Maybe you were being a good friend, by helping her heal, but on the dance floor, you looked pretty damn close." SHe had never been so strong willed, never. If they were having a conversation like this, she'd expect herself to cry for forgiveness, but tonight, she was making Oz do that. She studied his face, trying to see where this would lead, but she couldn't read it. "Willow, I realize I did hurt you, and I'm sorry." "Oz-" Her voice cracked, fully realizing the impact her words had on him. "If you want to split, I'm cool with that. But, can we still be friends?" "Yeah," She smiled cautiously, "YOu're an official member of the Slayerettes, remember?" He smiled, "Oz, I know I overreacted, but, I just-" "I know. I would've done the same thing in your shoes." By this time, Buffy walked over, leaving Angel in the shadows, "Can we talk, Will'?" "I don't know, I don't feel to good," She smiled weakly, "But, you two, go out, and have fun." She turned, and wlaked off to meet Angel, "Hey. What did you guys say?" "We're back to being friends." "YOu're not happy with that, are you?" "Hmmm?" She didn't repeta herself, "You heard me, buster." He chuckled, and then said, "She insulted me once, I insulted her, but I think I'll live," He studied her face, "How did it go, are you guys back together?" "Does it look like I'm with him?" She replied flatly "Guess not." He then asked, as they turned onto her street, "How did it go?" "I insulted him, and then, I called it off. I don't know why, but, I guess I was sick of guys always falling for BUffy." "I'm sorry." They wlaked into her front porch, "No, with you, I never knew. It would've beena real self-esteem booster. Some dark, cryptic, sexy guy in love with me," She looked up at him, "But, I think you and Buffy'll end up together again. YOu fit." "Uh-" "No, you're Star Crossed Lovers. You're Romeo-" "And you're Juliet." And then he kissed her. "Angel?" She was confused, withthe turmoil, and the events that had happened, "I don't want to be a rebound-" He kissed her again, and this time, she responded, using her tongue a little, to deepen the kiss. He looked up, and backed off, "I'm sorry. I don't kno-" "No, don't be," She turned around, to open the door, "Angel-" She whirled around to say something, but he was gone, "Good-bye." And then it went black. She slowly opened her eyes to find herself on a dark, damp concrete floor, her arms and legs bound together, and her mouth gagged. "Luv! You're awake, after twelve whole hours." Spike. He strode over to where she lay, and lifted her up, "How did you sleep?" She was so scared, she couln't think straight. "It's a pity Angel didn't stay longer, becase then, he'd be here too." He stroked her hair, before lying her down on the bed, "Such a pretty girl, I'd hate for yuo to go to waste. You'd make such a nice vampire." Panick struck her body, and she instantly began thrashing against the bounds that held her tight. "NO, no, don't panic," He soothed her, "No one's going to hurt you." "Wouldn't yuo like eternal life?" She shook her head wildly, "Why not, pet?" "Dru left me, and I thought you'd be a perfect partner for me. Wouldn't you like to see the world?" "Let her go, Spike!" She heard Buffy's voice coming from the back of the room, "Your fight is with me." "I don't have a fight with her, I was just seeing her. She is so beautiful, and all." "Let." Thwap! "Her." Pow! "Go." Kapow! Spike keeled over in pain, while she raced to untie her friend, "Willow, ANgel's outside, he'll get youhome." She nodded obiently, and ran out of the warehouse like a bat out of hell. She collided into ANgel's arms, "Angel!" She sobbed, "I'm so glad to see you. I didn't think-" "Shhh..." He patted her red hed, "YOu're safe, now." "He's going to try it again, Angel. He wants me by his side, and if it happens," She gulped, but Angel silenced her, by holding her closer, "I'll keep Spike from doing that to you." "How-" She saw Buffy burst out of there, and then started to run past the building, and a few of Spike's minions were running after her. Angel swooped Willow up, and began running after the Slayer. She looked closer, as they ran next to her, and she saw Buffy cradling her arm, and it was bent funny. When they made it to Willow's house, they all jumped inside, and from there, Willow called an ambulence for BUffy, "Your arm-" "I'll live." "I'm sorry. This is my fault." "How?" She looked at Willow, but she wouldn't disclose anything. Angel sat on the sofa next to her, as Buffy paced, waiting for the ambulence, "Uh, was it a gang that broke my arm?" "Yeah. PCP." Willow smiled, recalling their principal's story everytime the press came, questioning about a violent incident that destroyed the school. "How many of them?" "Five or six." Willow stated, recalling the exact number of vampires that chased them to her house, "Buffy, I'm really sorry about how I acted today-" "Yesterday, Will', and it's totally forgotten. I understand." She smiled, and Buffy returned it, leaving Angel a little left out, "I'm going to go now." "I know this might seem realy motherly of me to say this, but I want you to stay here today. Or at least wait until the last few minutes of night, please?" He nodded, "I can handle myself." "I know that," She hissed, "I just want to make sure you're safe." "Why? So you can-" "Shut up!" Willow yelled, and then, "Sorry, but, can't you guys just kiss and make up? Not that much happened between you guys-" "Buffy and I have changed," Angel stared hopelessly into Willow's eyes, "We just can't-" "Go back the way we were." She nodded, and looked into his eyes, "As much as I'd love to forget about the past months, I can't." Willow saw him flinch, as she continued, "Too much has changed. I've changed. He's changed." "Exactly." Angel seemed to agree, but Willow saw it in his eyes. "I think yuo guys are just being stubborn." They both shot her a deadly look, so she added, "But, it's just my humble opinion. I only want happiness for my friends. Is that so much to ask for?" Neither of them answered, as the ambulence pulled into the driveway. Buffy sat down, and continued to cradle her arm as the attendant walked in, and checked it, "Big fracture, we'll have to take you down to the hospital for that." "Great." Angel stood up, but she declined the offer before it was even made, "Angel, I know you're trying to be nice, but I can handle myself." She disappeared, after closing the front door behind her, leaving the dup in silence. "Well, that went well. Buffy'll get healed, and you coul stay here, and we could...." She trailed off, "Spank our inner moppets." Angel laughed, "Cute, Willow, but, I think I better get home." He saw her hurt look, so he added meaningfully, "Raincheck?" "Sure." She nodded, hiding her saddness as well as she could. "Will I see you tomorow?" "I'm your protector, of course you'll see me tomorrow. Right after sunset. Here." She nodded, as he leaned in, and kissed her gently on the forehead, "Don't go outside tonight, alright?" She agreed, "If Spike really wants you, he'll have to get through me first." "Thanks." And then, he disappeared, closing the door behind him. "Hey, Xander." She greeted him in the morning, as he stopped to pick her up, "What's up?" "I hope you're feeling better." "Thanks," She paused, "I'm just glad that Mom and Dad weren't home for the week. They'd have died from worry, if I had been missing with them around. How would you guys explained it to them?" She looked up and gave him a friendly grin, "Willow's been abducted by vampires, and they want to turn her into one of-" Xander smiled, and then wrapped an arm around her, causing her to lose her balance, "I'm so glad you're safe." "Gee, Xander, could your release the death grip you have on me?" "Sure," He responded, before asking, "How are you about Oz and Buffy?" "Oz and Buffy?" He coughed, "I thought you knew? He asked her steady last night, before they rescued you-" He saw the look in her eyes, "Sorry, Will', I thought-" "It's okay. It was bound to happen anyway. I just thought they'd have the common courtesy to wait a little while, you know maybe two days after we broke up." "It must be hard on you." "Not as hard as it is on Angel." "So, Dead-Boy's on the rebound. Be careful." She shook her head, "No, he wants Buffy back, and he's going to get hurt when he finds out about _them_," She looked up, and saw his concern, "What? Me, and Angel?! Where'd you get that idea?!" "From what BUffy said last night, the way he looked at you, when you insisted that they tried to work it out." "Since when did you have phone marathons with Buffy?" "Since last night. Are we jealous?" "Very." She replied, and ran up the steps and into the school before Xander could respond. "Giles," Willow walked in the library after school, jumping in on a conversation between Giles and Buffy, "I don't want her put in that kind of sitch. If anything happens to Will'-" "Hey guys; what's going to happen to me?" "Nothing," Giles replied boldly, "Nothing. We just have to hold Spike off until Drusilla gets back." She smiled, "What's so funny?" He demanded, "Just hearing you seem like you want DRusilla back....it's funny. I never thought I'd hear you say that." She glanced at Buffy, who was smiling, too. "Buffy, coul we talk?" "Perhaps it is ironic, but it's serious." "Sure, where do yuo want to go?" "Anywhere, but here." Giles sat down, "Girls, will we finish this later on?" Buffy smiled, "Thanks Giles, Will' and I need a talk." The duo left, past the library, past the school doors. They decided on a bench which sat underneath a big tree, "I know what you want to talk about." "Really?" "I just don't want some guy to ever get between us-" Willow smiled. "That's pretty much what I had to say. I know I was being all mean about you and Oz, but if you can make him happy, well, I'm happy." "Will'," She started to cry, "I'm sorry about all of that. I didn't come home on the vibe. We just started hanging out, and we-" "I don't want to hear it." Willow protested, "Sorry," She paused, and then changed the focus onto Willow, "We need to find you a guy. One that has a pulse." ***************************************************** "Well, you guys don't know. Maybe this time it'll be different." -Xander "It's Angel mess-age." -Willow "You know why? Hi All, This is Brenda, and I am working on something right now. It's sort of a strange story that takes place after becoming 2 and Angel is in hell. Anyway it's not anywhere near done and I have a few pages on my microsoft works program. What I need to know is how do I transfer it here. Just retype it onto the email page. Is there another way? If so could someone tell me. I realize that might be a dumb question but I just don't know. Ok that out of the way I'll tell you a little about it. You know just the idea. Willow is upset with Xander because of the whole him not telling Buffy about the spell. So they really aren't talking. Buffy is back. No one mentions the "A" word. Willow thinks that there must be away to pull him from the fiery depths. So I'm giving her one. That's what starts it. Where it's going and where it will end I really am not sure. .........oh yeah.......does anyone know what kind of sword said vampire who had a habit of regaining his soul might have in the with the dust bunnies of his very disused apartment. I was thinking a Claymore No mind you Willow is going to have to use this sword. You know for the casting.......anyway if anyone can give me some insight I would love it.....I'm so needy That's all folks see yeah, Brenda _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Message: 16 Date: Mon, 17 Aug 1998 00:30:02 EDT From: Subject: Re: Stories?!?!?! << What I need to know is how do I transfer it here. I'd like to know. ooooh, good question!! ;-) Don't know about the rest of the ladies on this list, perhaps it's just me ;), but Willow is the perfect reflection of every teenage girl in High School, then and now. She's beautiful but does not know it and hides in baggy clothes. She's intelligent, shy, introverted and quirky. She has been teased, alienated and broken so many times that it gives her a spirit and personality to match an angel. She knows what it is like to be in love with a guy that only sees her as 'just a friend'. And it just makes you want to be her cheerleader. Ya know what I mean? Angel is broody, moody and dangerous. The rebel. The bad boy of vampire fantasy. To have him with Buffy, was inevitable. But to have him with Willow isn't. It's a delicious combination!! Almost like Grease, the musical! :-) Willow the new 90's version of Sandra D. And Angel the Travolta of 90's muse! :-P Anyone else have any thoughts? Hugs Nate. _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ Message: 19 Date: Mon, 17 Aug 1998 18:55:07 +1200 From: Wahine.Murphy@xtra.co.nz Subject: Re: Intro, and such. > I'm so sorry that i sent that in the list! I'm also new to this writing gig and you're right on the button when you say it's mortifying!! ;-) I was wondering if maybe Jessica had a list on her TPWFLD Site that could contain any of the more established writers willing to help out the newbies??! Like me for instance?? Thought I'd just mention it!! Thanks. I am willing to volunteer my services now (I'm a MUCH better proofreader than a writer,) but It would be nice to have a Willow/Angel Beta-reader list. I'd be willing to set one up, if needed. (I still have a whole 5 and a half megs on my site, so space is *no* problem.) For those un-initiated in the lingo (I didn't know what a beta-reader was until my friend Lisa explained it, so I figure definitions are good,) a beta- reader is a fancy name for proofreader. HOWEVER, they also go through, give ideas, tweak weak sentance structure and are the all-around bad guy when it comes to critisism. Beta-readers can be vicious, but, truthfully, isn't that a good thing? Anywho, let me know if you guys are interested in that list. (If yes, send me your name and I'll put it on up.) A.j. Yes, my name is correctly spelled A.j. Not A.J. or AJ, but A.j. It's a long convoluted story, but It's me.. ::sigh:: I am so picky. _______________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________
