Buzz Buzz is a very mysterious entity. He appears when you find Picky sleeping under the tree by the meteorite, and tells of a strange prophecy from "The Apple of Enlightenment." This prophecy is that three boys and one girl will save everything from an entity known as Giygas. Buzz Buzz accompanies you and helps defend you against a Starman Jr, most likely sent to destroy you.

Unfortunately, Buzz Buzz's time with you is rather short. He follows you into the Minch household where he is mistaken for a Dung Beetle and swatted. With his last breath he gives you the Sound Stone and tells you what you must do, leaving you alone with a great destiny.

Very little is said about Buzz Buzz in the game. He says he has travelled back from the future, where Giygas has taken over and everything is ruined. He has taken the form of an insect, which proves fatal to him in the end. Perhaps his form is due to his mode of transport, for you have to take the form of a robot to travel to the past because the Phase Distorter destroys organic matter in the transfer. Maybe travelling in the meteorite required him to take on a form hardy and strong. What better than an insect? Insects are incredibly strong and can survive in amazing conditions. His form doesn't seem to impede his PSI abilities in the least, proven during the battle with the Starman Jr. Unfortunately, humans don't appreciate insects and have developed ways to deal with them. Ouch.
