Metamorphosis
Black Mane
Icy blue eyes
Piercing through with each deep stare
Revealing nothing but a hard soul beneath
Lying.
Taut mouth
Emotionless face
Not reflecting what really lies within
Exuding only cold, hard strength
Violent and evil
Until she slips up
Her eyes twinkle with amusement
Her mouth twitches with a hidden smile
A subtle humor
A giving heart
A vulnerable soul
When guards are let down
A beauty further projected
As lines are softened
By light-hearted humor
Demons are forgotten
Anger dissipated
Walls crumble
Eyes shine
Face glows
Mouth smiles
A hearty laugh
The toss of a powerful mane
to mask a tender gesture
And a playful nature
A transformation
Of outside only
Allowing it to be a brief glance
Of what lurks just beneath the surface
Forever waiting to get out
Subdues and restrained
By an iron will
And a stubborn nature.
A metamorphosis not into something new,
But rather into all that there ever was.
