She Looks At Me

She looks at me, with those startling blue eyes
That she says are not as startling as mine
But I don’t believe her
For to me they are the windows to a soul
A soul I was never destined to have
And that startles me

She turns to me, with a toss of her strawberry-blonde hair
And she surprises me
That she can affect me so with simply the turn of her head
And she tells me my Raven mane is beautiful
Holds a dark power she will never possess

And that surprises me

She speaks to me, with her heart-shaped mouth
And she touches me
With just a few simple words
But through her words she torrents her emotions
Making those words more powerful than any I’ve heard before
And that touches me

She catches me, with her gentle ways
And calms the turmoil in my heart
And replaces it with a peaceful sensation
That only she can invoke
And I know that only she could ever make me feel this way
And that calms me

She saves me, with each waking day
And she owns me
Her innocence forgives my evils
Her soul forgives my heart
Her laughter reclaims my fears
And she owns me

She smiles at me, with more than a mouth,
And she takes my breath away
With her eyes and her heart and her soul combined
And I can’t stop from smiling back.
She smiles at me
And I love her.
