A Wrong Journey

I wander far from you know,
And with each step forward
My desires take two leaps backwards
Receeding into the night
Chasing away my reason
Making me yearn
To return
To your side.

My journey down this forlorn path
So silent but for many thoughts
That are always of you;
Making me ache to turn around
And head back the way I came
To remain
To your side.

My tread grows heavy
Too much distance between us
This distance far more painful than the other
Of Metaphor only
Because you still held me there
With care
To your side.

I abandon my convictions
As I realize they are pointless;
Scattered thoughts in a chaotic wind,
When they keep me away from you
And cause my heart to ache
So now I return
And burn
To your side.
