Hope that's good enough! ######################################################### "Tully there's a storm rolling in, go tell Kevin to heard the sheep back inside." Conor ordered walking up to the warm fire that Catlin, Fergus and Tully were sitting around. "Why me? Why don't you do it yourself?!!" Tully declared crankily. Conor stared at him, "Because everyone has to do their share of work around here." "You shouldn't be the one to decide what is everyone's share of work. You shouldn't even be our Leader!" Tully stood up and went face to face with the prince. "And who should it be? You?" The young men glared threateningly at each other. Fergus and Catlin jumped to their feet and lodged themselves between them. "Calm down, Tully!" Catlin said pushing him back. "Why are you protecting him Cat? He's a worthless Prince! How can he be the leader? A worthless good for nothing Prince!" "Tully That's enough! Stop it!" Catlin yelled. She grabbed his shoulders and shook him, "Enough Tully! Enough!" The dark man became quiet. Without another word he stormed away towards his hut. Catlin and Fergus turned to look at Conor. The young man's face was red with anger and somewhere, partially hidden, a hint of hurt. "I'll go tell Kevin to get the sheep inside." Fergus said. Conor shook his head, "No. I'll do it. Go get your rest Fergus. You've had a hard days work." Saying so, the young man made his way towards his hut to get a long sleeved shirt. His long time friend had spent the whole day helping Roland build his hut. He slipped on the shirt and made his way outside. He went to a hidden side cave where they stalled the horses and prepared his mount. Conor rode quietly through the open fields. He groaned. His arms were so sore! Never again would he tease Fergus after the warrior comes back from chopping fire-wood. He yawned and nudged his horse into a light gallop. The sooner he got to Kevin and the sheep, the sooner he'd be able to get some rest. Within five ten minutes he reached the tightly packed heard of sheep, "Kevin, there's a storm rolling in from the south. We have to get the sheep inside." The other man brought his horse towards Conor, "Let's get moving then. It'll get dark soon." Conor nodded and broke away. "I'll take up the rear, if you want to lead." Kevin nodded, "Sure thing, Conor." The man brought his horse to the front of the heard and slowly made his way in the direction of the sanctuary. He glanced up at the sky which was still clear of any storm clouds. "Kevin!" The man looked out before him. A dark man on horseback emerged from the trees, "It's time to head in." Kevin nodded and nodded behind him and the sheep. Tully's eyes met Conor's. He broke the contact and came alongside the other man's horse. "How'd it go?" Kevin haunched and smiled, "It was a nice day. I sat around and enjoyed the sun. It was as if the Romans weren't even here." "Hmmmm... That's good. But we can't stay deny their presence," Kevin shook his head, "I'm not denying anything Tully. All I'm saying is that I enjoyed the peace and quiet. It reminded me of the past. And, what we can have again in the future if we keep uniting and fighting the Romans." "And we will be free again Kevin." The other man nodded, "I know." There was a low deep rumble. Tully's mount neighed and side stepped nervously. Tully drew him back in line with ease. "That must be the storm Conor was talking about." Kevin said as he turned to look at Conor. "We'll pick up the pace!" The leader yelled through the steadily loudening growl of the wind. Kevin nodded and glanced at Tully who was staring straight faced in front of him. "Something wrong?" The dark young man shook his head, "No." Tully's mount suddenly sidestepped again and he steadied his horse again. "This storm is really coming in fast!" He exclaimed. A bolt of bright incessant light streaked through the rapidly darkening sky. A rip roaring sound bound to it's following tail. Tully's horse reared with fright. The young man pulled on the reigns and pushed his weight forward in an attempt to bring his mount back onto all fours. His horse twisted in mid air. It grabbed the cold bit and yanked the reins from Tully's hands. A hard chilly rain began to fall. The sheeps bickered loudly in discontent. Kevin and Conor were both also fighting their frightened mounts but neither of them was as stricken as Tully's. There was another flash of blue explosion. "Tully!" Conor yelled from somewhere behind the curtain of rain. He saw his friend lose grip on his mounts reins and attempt to grab a hand full of mane. He missed. The horse got to it's hind feet and pawned the air madly before bolting for the cover of the forest. Tully's body flew back with the violent forward lurch of the horse. There was another crash of lightning and in that split moment of light, two faces could be seen, mouths open mouthing a "No!" that was drowned out by the ground shattering boom... Tully moaned and slowly opened his eyes. Everything was a blur for a minute then it all came clear. He was sore all over. "How you feeling lad?" Fergus' voice echoed from somewhere. Tully turned to see the warrior glancing down at him with a huge grin, "I'm sore." "You ought to be! You fell of ye horse while it was in full gallop lad! Don't ye remember?" Tully recalled the storm and nodded, "Is Kevin, Conor and the Sheep safe?" He asked as he pushed himself onto his elbows. Fergus frowned placing a hand on the man's chest, he pushed the man back down onto the bed, "Get you rest Lad. Kevin and the sheep are fine. Didn't lose one." Tully glared at him, "What about Conor?" Fergus was silent. Worry spread across his face, "Conor?" "Yeah, Conor. Where is he? Is he o.k.?" Fergus shifted uneasily, "Lad, what are you talking about? Who's Conor?" Tully sighed, "Fergus stop playing games! Just answer the question!" "I'm serious Lad. I don't know who you are mumbling about." Tully frowned. Fine if Fergus wanted to be that way so be it. He glanced around the room. His eyes widened, "What... What am I doing in Conor's hut!!?!" Tully asked siting up. "Calm down Lad!" Fergus pushed the resisting young man back down. "Fergus, why am I here? My things... Why are all my things here?" "Tully, lad, this is your hut." Fergus replied his worry rising, "Maybe I should get Madhia," He got to his feet. "Fergus I'm alright! Where's Conor? You know the Leader of the confederation???" Fergus went up to Tully and placed his hands upon the young man's shoulders, "Lad, you are the Leader of the confederation. I don't know who this Conor guy is you keep yapping about." Tully's mouth dropped in amazement. I'm the Leader??? TO BE CON"T
