Willow walked quickly from the Bronze she was alone and felt sad that she had not taken Oz up on the offer he had given for the ride home. She just felt like being alone after all that had happened lately. Willow desperately missed her best friend Buffy, and since she had been gone for almost 2 months now she was worried she would never see her again. It was all very strange life without Buffy, it was also strange with life with Buffy. Willow walked briskly felling a cold shiver on the back of her neck. Oz and Xander and her had taken up on the slaying which was not fun. Cordelia had left right after school had gotten out, to go on vacation with her parents. "Lucky her." Willow thought bitterly. Willow felt someone grab her from behind, and the cloth close over her mouth she got a small whiff of a heavy chemical she half remembered and then everything went black.

Oz was getting worried he had been waiting for Willow outside of the school for  20 minutes. He was always here to meet her when she arrived and she was always there.  Today he had a bad feeling about her being late he walked over to the pay phone and  dialed up Willows house maybe she was just sick. It rang a few times and then  Mrs. Rosenberg picked up.

"Hello," she said in a shaky voice.

"Um... hi Mrs. Rosenberg, is  Willow home?".

"Oh, Oz is that you?" she sounded so hopeful at just hearing his voice.

"Yes, this is Oz," he said with a hint of fear. "Have you seen Willow is she with you?"

" No ma'am, she's not at home?" He said almost panicking. It was one thing to be missing it  was another to be missing in Sunnydale. " No Oz she never came home she is missing."  Oz quickly finished the call saying he would try to help. He then ran to the library Giles  would have to know what to do. He hoped Willow was not hurt...

Willow awoke with a sudden lurch she had a low growling in her stomach a  hunger she had never known. Willow looked around she was in a dark room on a slab of  stone with a crimson sheet over her body. Willow was wearing a blood red dress and felt  as if she was about to throw up when she saw her imprisoner.

"Oh good your awake."  Spike said in a low voice almost a growl. "I hope you like your dress. I brought you some
food." He pulled a pint of blood from under his coat and slowly walked over to Willow.

Normally Willow would have been instantly revolted but instead she slowly got up. She  knew what she wanted and also knew what had happened. She was now a vampire. Spike  must have made her the night he had taken her on the street on her way home... Willow  slowly fell to the ground, sobs taking over her body.

Spike slowly set down the blood and  walked over to Willow. He slowly bent down and grasped her shoulder not knowing what  else to do. He pulled her up and against her shoulder letting her cry. She cried until she  had no more tears to shed and pulled away from him her eyes wild with pain. He walked  over to the blood and came back to her.

"Drink now." That was all the coaxing she  needed. She drank with passion. Then slowly she pulled away the container not sure of  what she had just done. Completely disgusted with what she had just done.

"How could  you do this to me?" she whispered. "I did not do it luv, one of the others grabbed you and  drank. You would have died so I gave you my blood and made you one. I never meant for  this to happen."

Willow could not look him in the eye her mind was spinning Buffy, Oz,  Xander, and Giles. All of them were gone now out of her grasp. The only thing she could  think was I should have taken that ride Oz I should have taken the ride.

Xander was frantic Cordelia was just trying to comfort her. Giles had a worried  look on his face and Oz sat in his chair in the library. Stunned and waiting for something  to give. Willow had been missing for almost two days now. All of them had combed  through Sunnydale looking for any trace of her. All they had found was her smiley face  backpack with all of her belongings in it. They had found it in a ally, splattered with  blood. All that Oz could think of was the fact that he had not pushed her into taking the  ride. He remembered so clearly the way she had declined with a small smile on her face.

She had looked so sweet and she had said she needed to think so she would walk. Oz was  not one to push but he wished he had just this once. He prayed the blood was not her's but  he knew deep down it was. Night was falling they were all planning to go searching again...

Night was falling Willow was completely drained of energy. She felt so different  like her body was not even hers anymore. She was not thinking kill or murder like one  would expect, somehow Spike had realized she had kept her soul. Which for her would be  as bad if not worse living as a creature of the night with a soul.

Willow lay where she was  she had fallen asleep after she had fed. Spike said she would be drained for about 2 or 3  days until she got used to her new life. Spike had told her for the next few weeks she  should not try to move to fast and that he would hunt for them both. Willow had asked if  she would need to eat human blood. Couldn't she just eat sheep's blood or lambs? Even  that made her feel sick. But the cold blood she did get was hard for her to choke down it
tasted good as she thought it would never taste but the coldness... she wanted warm blood  more then anything even though she could not believe what she was thinking she was  craving to have blood out of a human fresh and warm. Velvety.

Whenever these thoughts  would enter her mind, faces would come soon and fast - Buffy, Xander, Giles, and Oz. She  missed them all. She knew if she ever tried to go back to them they would most likely not  understand and would try to slay her. She would never feel her own bed again and never  hug her stuffed animals close in the same innocent way she had once done. Her life as  Willow was over. At least the Willow she had known her friends had known her parents  had known. She was now Willow of the night the Willow that craved blood. Spike slowly  walked over to her and sat down on the bed.

"Hello Luv. Sleep well?"

Oz walked down the lane towards the old mansion. The mansion where they had  killed Angel where the vampires had lived. It was suppose to be abandoned but he did  not have anywhere else to look. He had looked in every building in Sunnydale. There was  no trace of Willow alive or.. Oz could not bring himself to think of her dead. He did not  know how to live with out her. Listen to her talk to see her everyday smell her hair and  her perfume. Oz missed all of that and more. Her kisses. He just missed Will. He had to  find her before anything bad happened to her. He had to protect her and find her make  her safe again.

Oz walked into the court yard and around the back being sure not to trip  on any of the lose stones. He came into the main room of the mansion. It was big and  empty and felt as if no one had been in the mansion since Buffy and Angel had been here.  Oz walked into one of the halls and started looking from room to room, Willow had to be  here they had all looked everywhere in Sunnydale this was there last chance for her. Oz  thought he herd muffled talking he slowly walked into a large hall with curving stairs  going down. He followed them until the voices got louder he could almost understand  what they were saying...

"Luv, you have to eat you need to eat or you will just get more  and more into the blood lust that would mean you could become violent and you could  hurt someone."

" I don't want to Spike."

Oz knew that voice! If Spike would just move  out of the way.

" Spike it makes me sick to think of drinking that again please just don't
make me."

" You have to now drink."

Spike stepped aside and there she was Willow. But  what was she doing. She was drinking out of a container a container filled with blood! Oz  watched her drink in hungry gulps. Oz slowly went up the stairs so not to be discovered  he stumbled out of the mansion and went to his van.  He blindly drove to the high school  and ran to the library. He burst in and breathlessly came to face Giles and Xander.

"I  found her." He said. "She is with Spike. He made her a vampire." Giles dropped his book  and Xander sat back into his chair his eyes closed in disbelief Willow and vampire?  Oz sat in his chair dumfounded just staring at nothing listing to Xander and Cordelia bombarded Giles with questions.

"But can't you find a spell to make her not a  vampire?" Cordelia asked innocently.

"No Cordy, we cant make her a not vampire because  then she would be dead."

"Oz are you sure that is what you saw maybe she was just  drinking like a fruit punch?" Xander asked hopefully.

"No, it's was blood she did not want  to drink it but I think Spike forced her to. She was saying that it made her sick to her  stomach and he said she would die without it," Oz murmured trying to find some reason  other then that she was a vampire.

"Giles we have to go get her from Spike he could try  to hurt her." Xander said with much emotion.

"I don't think he was trying to hurt her. He  seemed to care about her.

"Yeah, he cared so much he made her a vampire." Xander said in  a bitter voice.

"Xander maybe you should calm down until we know all the facts." Giles  said. "Now I know of many vampires when they sire another vampire they do care for  them but not the way Oz is speaking of. They do not hunt for them or hide them. Which  leads me to believe there could be something different about this case."

Oz hoped it was  a different case. Like the case where Willow would still be Willow and not something  they would have to destroy.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Willow slept again, she had been sleeping now more then she had as a human.  Spike figured it was more out of depression then anything. Willow just lay there her chest  was not moving because she did not need to breath anymore. She just laid there, her red  hair framing her ever paler face. Willow stirred but did not wake up, she thrashed a bit  and then seemed to fall back into a deep dream. probably a nightmare Spike thought he  had many nightmares when he was first made. Of course none of them had been to bad  because he had not had a soul.
That was a question to be asked how had Willow kept her  soul. It had never been done before to his knowledge. He knew that a vampire could be  given a soul as he had learned with Angelus his sire. But how had Willow managed to  keep hers. He would have to read up a bit, perhaps he could ask that British Liberian that  Willow had always been with. But then of course he would probably get a stake through  his heart. The slayer may be gone but her chums were still here and they had to slay the  vampires for her. They would most certainly slay Willow now that she had changed,  Spike didn't know if he could take losing Willow also.
Drusilla had left him after they  had escaped the old mansion. She had said she hated him because he had taken her away  from Angel, and that she never wanted to see him again. This had been like daggers  through his heart but he had walked away from her. He was not sure why he had come  back to Sunnyhell he had just needed something familiar. He was actually about to leave  again when he had come upon Willow being attacked, he had heard her scream and  thought that the sound was familiar. He had come around the corner to see her limp body  in the arms of a feeding vampire, her scarlet hair falling over her shoulders as the  vampire feed from her.
Spike had acted on pure instinct and knocked the vampire off of  Willow there was a fight and in the end the other vampire was dust. He had gone to Willow's body and found a faint pulse that was slowing by the minuet. He was not sure  why he had done what he did next but he did he slit his wrist and let his blood drip into  her mouth. Then he had taken her to the old mansion and that was how Willow had been  made. Even though no one including Willow believed it Spike knew she would never  forgive him for what he had done to her. But Spike just could not see her die something  deep down made him save her perhaps something about his loneliness or maybe he cared  for Willow and just never knew. But what was done was done, life or in his case death  would go on forever and ever.
Willow sat on the love seat in front of the big fire place in her room. She loved to  be there in front of the fire feeling its heat, even though she could no longer make body  heat for herself she loved the heat of the fire. She was snuggled up with some historic  volume that Spike had brought her. She was almost done with it, she had a lot of time  these days to read. There was nothing better to do, she missed the library and Giles and  his books. The pain from not seeing them was getting easier but she knew it would never  go away.
Willow looked up from her book she had thought she had herd a door slam  somewhere in the mansion. Probably just her imagination though, there it was again faint  footsteps something she would have never managed to here before but now herd quit  clearly since she had been changed. They were not Spike's foot steps not in boots like his,  they were some how familiar but she could not remember from who. She slowly got up  and walked over to her vanity. She pulled out a long dagger that Spike had given her just  in case something like this ever happened. She walked slowly into the hall and up the  stairs she opened the door and looked into the hall and there standing in the dim light was  Oz.
Spike walked down the hallway of Sunnydale High. Towards the school library he had to talk to the Giles he needed to know how Willow had kept her soul. If it was her fault that she would spend a eternity not being able to hunt or kill. Like Angel he was a sniveling pile of nothing once he got his soul. Willow was getting along pretty well he figured she was lonely with only him around to talk to but he tried to make her happy. But he knew he could not make her happy like Oz had or Buffy or even her little friend Xander. Spike walked throughout the doors he found the British librarian sitting in front of a stake of books.
"I need your help." Spike said hoping he didn't pull out a crossbow and shoot him.
"Why should I help you?" Giles said with a hint of hatred in his voice.
"Because I need help to find out why Willow kept her soul." Spike said hoping mentioning Willow would make thing easier.
"Willow kept her soul? Th... that's not possible no vampire has been made and kept there soul."
He gulped, "They can only be given there soul with a curse and..." Spike thought about it and decided he would have to tell Giles everything.
"Look maybe it is the way she was made.." He proceeded to tell Giles the story of how Willow was made when he was done Giles looked at him with awe and respect something Spike never thought he would see coming from the watcher.
"You saved her so perhaps she kept her soul because she was not killed in a act of violence but a act of salvation." Giles said he got up and walked to the card index. "I will have to look this up you will help?" Giles asked turning to Spike.
"Yeah, yeah, sure but I will have to get back to Willow soon she's all alone."
"Yes yes of course." Spike walked up to the stacks and started going throughout the books looking for ones on Vampires.
Willow drooped that dagger and she felt tears welling up in her eyes. "Oz?" she
asked scared not knowing if he was here to kill her or to find her.
"Wil...Willow are you OK?" Oz asked as if she had to flu or a cold yea a cold for eternity.
"I'm fine what are you doing here.. I'm... I'm so sorry, Oz. I wanted to talk to you to call you to go see you. I couldn't though I.." Willows voice broke and tears streamed down her cheeks.
Oz walked over to Willow and embraced her, "It's OK Willow I know." Willow pulled back from Oz her face twisted in pain and embarrassment.
"You know? you know I'm a... I'm a...," Willow said notable to finish the words.
"Willow I know your a vampire. I know and I also know I don't care." Willow looked up at Oz like he had just said something completely shocking. "
How could you not care! I'm dead. I'm the undead. I'll never see the sun again and I I have to drink blood. How can you not care!" Willow became suddenly angry at what had happened to her she just wanted away from it all.
"Willow please come on Ill take you to the library we will find a way to help you maybe we can find a spell or something." Oz was cut off by a growl from behind him he turned around to face Spike in full party face mode.
"Get away from her," Oz whipped out the stake he had under his coat.
"No your not going to hurt her anymore, Spike." Spike pushed Oz out of the way and walked over to Willow he grabbed her shoulders.
"Willow, run go on I'll take care of this." Spike said afraid of what could happen to her.
"No, Spike. I'm staying leave him alone." Oz recovered on the floor a hot anger growing inside him her raised the stake about his head and charged Spike. Willow saw him coming.
"Spike!" she pushed Spike to the side and as Oz plunged the stake down. Willow felt it enter her and a shocked look of pain crossed her face and then she was dust. Ashes to ashes dust to dust was going through her head as the slowly disintegrated.
-The End-
