ANDREI NIKOLOV

Born on may 12, 1878 in Vratza, in commonly Bulgarian
family, he grows faithful to himself and through all his life he became centuries-old Bulgarian aspiration to the beauty and harmony. In 1903 year went in Paris and learns sculpture at professo Antonienne Meresier. The plastical form of Andrei Nikolov is distinguished of European sculpture, in spite of strong European influence. His sclupture was with cleaned form of details, exposing for love of the life and people, realistic understanding of sculpture capacity and material. Returning in Bulgaria in 1907 Andrei Nikolov works in Vidin perished memorial of Serb-Bulgarian war /1885/. In 1910 year he became teacher in Art school when he estab - lished instruction in marble chisel. In his own creative worcs he is distinguished with refinement and cleaned form. Returning home from Paris he fetched his first works. Once he feels the poetry of the marble, correspon- ding to his mood and creative seeks, he stay loyal during all his life. |
