BROOTS and DEBBIE
This is Broots. (Jon Gries) We don't know his first name yet, but he's a computer whiz working in the Tech Room at The Centre. Although he has a seemingly non-confrontational personality and allows himself to get bullied a lot, he's exhibited the ability to fight ferociously when protecting children, especially his own daughter. He admits that he "sold his soul" to work at The Centre but staunchly refuses to allow The Centre to have his daughter's soul as well.
He has a quirky sense of humor, and once saw to it that a carton of cigarettes was forwarded to Miss Parker's hotel room when she visited Minneapolis (after she had specifically told him she trying to quit smoking).
He loves B-movies, Monopoly, and internet chat-rooms. (His on-line name is "Samson".) He belonged to the Computer Club in college.
Jarod showed up at Broots house shortly asked Broots regained custody of Debbie. The house was decorated with plaid furniture, family photographs, and art work (apparently) done by Debbie.
This is Debbie, Broots' daughter. Broots won custody of her in the second season of the show, after Jarod revealed to the judge overseeing the custody trial that Broots' ex-wife had been using the child support Broots sent her to go on a gambling binge in Las Vegas.
Debbie is now living in Broots' home, and bonded with Parker in the second season of the show, showing up in The Centre dressed and coifed like Miss P. Miss Parker gave Debbie the gift of the "Little Women" book her own mother Catherine had given to her (on the day Catherine died).
