NAVY RANK: Officer & Enlisted

* Designation/Rating (ie. occupational specialty.)
PLEASE NOTE: Do not confuse Rate
with Rating. They are two different terms.
* Hat/Shoulder/Collar, Shoulder Board, & Sleeve Devices or Emblems
The "rating badge" of enlisted personnel is a combination
of rate (pay grade as indicated by the chevrons--or "V"s used on unifroms)
and rating (occupational specialty as indicated by the symbol just above
the chevrons.)
