COMMENTS : The Dragons have been hot and cold this season, but when they are hot, they are HOT! They proved themselves in this game once again with Blacklock almost forcing selectors to pick him fo Origin 2. Melbourne were always threatening, but full credit to the Dragons defence for holding out the best attacking side of the competition. Ball handling let the Storm down in pressure situations. Robbie Ross played soundly, except for one crucial mistake from a kick which lead to a goal dropout. Shaun Timmins was guilty (or will be) of 2 high shots (and 2 tries) and will almost certainly have to rest out a few weeks on suspension. Wishart played well for the Dragons, whilst Kimmorley was good but not good enough to eclipse Andrew Johns as the No.1 Blues Halfback.

COMMENTS : A great of past origin victories, Tim Brasher was the standout in this match. Not only did he score 2 tries, he sparked the Rabbitohs side with inspirational runs and breaks. This game ended up being tight though with an impressive late surge from the Cowboys who nearly came away with a win.

COMMENTS : The Bulldogs lived up to their name for being a hard gritty side with a punishing display over the Sea-Eagles. 4 Manly players were concussed from the brutal Bulldogs defence. Rod Silva and Travis Norton stood out for the Doggies, while some would say that Toovey has played his way into the Hooker position for the Blues. Manly were not awful, but need definite improvement if they want to get off the bottom.

COMMENTS : Brisbane have finally remembered how they have played for the last decade. Fast, furious and with lots of tries! 9 tries in all for the Broncos who romped all over the forlorn Maggies. Brad Thron pushed for Origin selection, whilst Lockyer made a successful return from injury. Tallis was also impressive in this flogging.

COMMENTS : This was the farewell game for a great player Paul Harrogan. And although he wasn't playing, his presence in the dressing room before the game spurred on his Knights to a magnificant victory over the League Leaders. In only their 2nd loss of the season, The Sharks had no answers for sparkling attack from Andrew Johns and Robbie O'Davis. 2 incidents clouded the match however, with Daniel Smailes certain to get 10+ weeks for an elbow on Martin Lang (which NO penalty was awarded for), and Butterfield for a swinging arm. The referees have only sent 1 player from the field all season, and there is certain to be some questions asked about why more players aren't marched. It's ironic though because there were people complaining a few years ago about how too many players were sent off for offences that weren't considered dangerous enough. Work that out..

COMMENTS : Canberra lead all 22-12 at the 60th minute of this match before Sydney City clicked into gear to steamroll the 'Faders' in the last 20. Fittler had a horro game in the first game with 2 charge downs from his kicks, and one that lead to a try and Lam injuring his shoulder. He picked up his game int he 2nd half however and helped the Roosters plough though the Raiders defence for 3 tries in the last 15 minutes. Simon Woolford was the Raiders best, whilst the 'Macs' and Daley were strong. Jack Elsegood was inspirational, scoring 2 tries only a few days after his fathers sudden death.

COMMENTS : The Eels needed to win this game to stay in the 8 and really push for a top 5 spot. They were comfortable for most of the game, but had a scare near the end when the Warriors pushed them for the full 80 minutes. John Simon played in his first top grade game this year and scored a try to top it off. Jasom Smith was once again the leader and best player for the Eels. David Penna looks to have settled in the Five-Eighth role well as well.

COMMENTS : Welcome back to North Sydney Oval! The Bears were back in front of their true home ground and went on to completely destroy the Tigers in the second half. Brett Dallas cored 4 for the Bears and could ahve scored more with a powerful attacking game. Poor ol Balmain are in real trouble now with 4 losses in a row, and find themselves slipping to the bottom 5 of the table.
