COMMENTS : A sloppy affair at times, but the Roosters deserved their victory with a couple of neat tries. Parramatta tried hard all night, but just couldn't break the Roosters line. While the Eels defence was very strong and held out repeated raids at their goal-line.

COMMENTS : Another sloppy game before a small Tigers crowd. Duckworth was the standout for the Tigers as they scored two tries against the run of the game to post their second win in a row at home. Paul Green played a more major role in the Cowboys team in this game, and looks to give the Cowboys some hope for future matches.

COMMENTS : The Rabbits played well in this game, although the 6 tries to 2 doesn't reflect this. It at least gives some promise to the Rabbitoh fans for the rest of the season to see them actually playing well against quality opposition. If Rogers boot radar had been on target, the score would have been less flattering. Peachey and Rogers both played well for the Sharks.

COMMENTS : With no time remaining, the Raiders lead 14-10. Nathan Brown puts up a bomb in the corner. Rod Wishart dives over the pack to take a miraculous catch and score in the corner. The scores are level. It would take an amazing kick from Bartrim to win this game. He kicks it and the ball sails through the posts. The Dragons win their first for the season, while Canberra go to 1-2. An amazing game, with McLinden starring for the Raiders, but not even his efforts could stop the Dragons in the dying minutes of the game.

COMMENTS : Very disappointing from the premiers. I don't know what they have been thinking this season. But if they expected to romp it home for the premiership again, they are sadly mistaken. An undisicplined and sloppy effort for the Broncos. Meanwhile the youthful Storm were outstanding, with Kimmorley being the stand-out. Scott Hill also had a great game. Brisbane will need to pick up their game if they plan to beat the Sharks next week.

COMMENTS : Yet again the Bulldogs pulled a game out of the fire. This game was going to go to the Knights for the majority of the match, and then the Bulldogs turned it on. When Halligan scored in the 67th minute to put the Doggies in front, they didn't look back. They knew they had the momentum to win the game. And win they did. Reminiscent of the Parramatta & Newcastle victories in their 1998 semi final campaign, the Bulldogs looked hungry as soon as they got a sniff of a victory. Rod Silva played a man of the match performance, while Halligan was Mr reliable like usual and actually played well on the wing!

COMMENTS : Once again the Sea-Eagles couldn't defence against a quality attacking side. As was expereinced last week against the Roosters, Manly just couldn't keep teams from diving over their lines. Now they have conceded 82 points in 2 games, and Fulton will have make his players take a long hard look at themselves. Who could have bet that the 2 once glamour sides of the NRL, Brisbane and Manly would be 0-3? Wish I had bet on that!

COMMENTS : What comments can you make? Wests suck. Will they win a game all year? Maybe...if they play Manly! An 11 to 1 thrashing from Penrith who played extremely well, especially 19 year old prop Tony Puletua. This game was also significant because it marked the return of Craig Greenhill after a nearly total debilitating injury last year. He made it through the game and looks certain to be a major force in the Panthers pack. All that can be decided from this game is that the Magpies days are numbered!
