COMMENTS : A great effort from the Storm in this match. They were down by 10 with 10 to go, and like Canterbury have done before, the Storm 'Stormed' home in true Bulldog fashion to win by 7. The turningpoint would have to be the run by Marcus Bai down the left hand wing. He beat 4 players on his way to the line and that set it it up for Kimmorley to dive over the line to put the Storm in the lead with minutes remaining. Scott HIll and Kimmorley were masters in the halves, with Scott Hill scoring Man of the Match. |

COMMENTS : What a game for the Rabbitohs fans! I think there are few people who would be disappointed that the Rabbits are finally out fo the wilderness and actually playing some quality footy. Trindall did it himself with 2 tries, a game-winning field goal and 2 try savers. What more could a team need? Conversely, the Dragons again looked inconsistant and had a lack of discipline that they will have to remedy is they plan to challenge the big teams. And it looks like Souths will be one of the big teams of 99! |

COMMENTS : Once again, Cronulla did what was necessary and kept the Broncos on their losing streak. The Sharks looked hungry from the start, while Brisbane continued their reluctant and hesitant play. Brisbane had a chance to tie the game near full time when a Cronulla player ran from an off side position to hold Tallis up over the line. This was not awarded a try, but minutes later Brisbane scored out wide to bring themselves within 2. Lockyer missed the kick out wide and that left the scoreline as is. Hats off to Cronulla for an outstanding start to the season. |

COMMENTS : After 2 minutes of play, Shane Whearet ran 95 metres to score the Eels first try. From here it was plain sailing for Parra who looked a quality side with Whearet a late replacement and Ben Kusto adding more talent to the backs. Balmain looked flat for most of the game, however Duckworth and Lowire were their standouts. |

COMMENTS : Newcastle never looked liked losing this one, even with Cliffy Lyons doing a resurection for the Manly side. The Knights were just too strong all over the park and look like the team that we expect. Andrew Johns was instrumental in several tries and with Darren Albert returning on the wing, the Knights look to be in a good position. |

COMMENTS : Some Fittler magic was enough for the Roosters as once again a great defensive effort in the first half especially set up this victory. Along with scoring a try himself, Fittler was a one man freak show as he constantly through miracle balls and ran the Warriors defence ragged. To the Warriors credit, they stuck it out and had some glimpses of form in the first half |

COMMENTS : Wests actually scored the first try in this game, but that just gave the Raiders a wakeup call as they continued to trounce the Magpies (once again). Not much to report, other than a power house game from Daley and McLinden. |
