COMMENTS : Melbourne showed their class again in this game with 3 players running in doubles. The Warriors really missed their suspended captain Ridge, while for the Storm Howe returned and may be suspended again after a very suspect tackle on Jason Death which left him with a broken jaw. All in all the Storm will be happy with this performance. |

COMMENTS : A wet sloopy field contributed to a sloppy match, particularly from the Eels. Parramatta squandered early chances in the first half before the Roosters took control of the first 40 minutes by simply holding the ball and powering up the middle. Their backs in particular had strong games including Walker, Sing and Miles. The Eels picked up their game in the second half to keep the Roosters scoreless, but were only able to score 6 points themselves. Pay played his way into a Test side, while Sing is hoping to have played his way into the Test team with a Man of the Match performance. |

COMMENTS : Another disgraceful game from the Cowboys who look to be certain cellar dwellars in 1999. Meanwhile, Penrith capitalised on plenty of Cowbyos mistakes to score their 4th win of the season. Jorgensen has roared to the top of the try-scoring list with 9 tries from 5 matches. |

COMMENTS : Norths bounced back this week to comfortably beat the Tigers. The Tigers were disappointing while Norths simply ran through them with Fairleigh leading the way. |

COMMENTS : Before a record Sharks crowd, Cronulla showed why they are undefeated with a quality attacking game against the masters of defence, the Bulldogs. Mat Rogers setup an absolute beauty down the right wing with a kick and regather. Canterbury didn't show the spark that they have in previous weeks, and Ricky Stuart should learn to keep his mouth shut after giving away a silly penalty to lead to a Sharks try |

COMMENTS : A great game of footy this one. Newcastle took the early lead after a Barrett mistake and a charging Harrogan. But after that the Dragons took the half by the scruff of the neck. After half time, the Knights came out looking good again, but similar to the first half they dropped the intensity and the Dragons ran in 3 classy second half tries to run away with the game. Mundine and Barrett again looked good together, while Luke Patten and Rod Wishart also had strong games. |

COMMENTS : They win one! Brisbane finally break the drought with a comfortable win in the end. Souths kept the Broncos out for most of the first half before letting one in but going to the break at 6-0. After the break, Craig Wing kept up his great form with another try on the wing. However Souths couldn't keep out the hungry Broncos who will again have a tough game to back up next week against the Knights at Marathon |
