Since Toy Story wowed the world as the first computer generated movie a few years ago, Hollywood sturdios have realised that it's possible to use computers to make warm, engaging and most of all lucrative movies.

So fast forward to now and we have Antz, a wry age old tale of a worker deciding there must be more to life than just hauling dirt around and deciding to make a stand.

The hook being that the worker is an ant in a colony of millions.

Gorgeous to look at with some breath-taking vistas and a superb voice over cast - from the neurotic hero Z (Woody Allen), his princess bride (Sharon Stone) to the crazy general (Gene Hackman) and his sidekick, Cutter (Christopher Walken), this is the perfect family movie which will go over the heads of any young kid but be lapped up by their parents.

Unmissable stuff featuring a nail-biting finale which rarely fails to stir the emotions and an inevitable pull back which makes you realise just how small these insects are. An added bonus is Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin as the voices of two snooty wasps who help our heroes out of a tight spot.
