Jennifer Anistonapoulos was born in Sherman Oaks, California on 11 February 1969. She spent a year of her childhood living in Greece before moving back to the States relocating in New York. Raised by her mother after her parents divorced when she was 9, Jennifer began to follow in her father's footsteps two years later joining the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club. John Aniston got the role of Victor Kiriakis in the long running soap "Days Of Our Lives" where he still can be seen today. A little bit of trivia is that the late Telly Savales was her Godfather.

After graduating from New York's High School of the Performing Arts in 1987 she went on to star in several Off-Broadway productions before getting her first TV role in "Molloy". She also made appearences on several shows including "The Edge", "Ferris Bueller", "Herman's Head" and "Quantum Leap". She also did two made for TV movies "Camp Cucamonga", "How I Spent My Summer" both in 1990 as well as starring in the movie "Leprechaun" although if you ask her whether she was in the latter film she will deny it because she hates the film.

By this time her career wasn't looking as rosy as it could have been but then in 1994 she was asked to do an audition for a pilot called "Friends Like These". Jennifer looked at the character named Monica she was to audition for and refused as she didn't feel it was her but said she would audition for the part of Rachel Karen Green, a pampered daughter who wants to find her independence and gets a job as a waitress in a coffee bar.

The NBC series "Friends" catapulted both her and her co-stars to fame and made her a sought-after star overnight as well as a role model, many girls all over America got her "Shag" type hairstyle.

Five years on "Friends" is still a big hit but with the audiences dipping and other shows overtaking it Jennifer has begun to land movie roles inbetween each season with five already in the bag, "'Til There Was You", "Dream for an Insomniac", "Picture Perfect", "She's the One" and "Object Of My Affecttion.

As well as being a very good actress she's also a bit of a wiz with a brush and paint and I don't mean decorating. She developed a love for art back in the Rudolf Steiner School and when she was 11 one of her paintings was selected for display in New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art but nowadays she gets little time to do any. In addition to acting and painting she also likes to surf the net and use computers. She has one at home she uses to write letters, track her finances and keep a journal. She also recently starred in Steven Spielberg's interactive CD-ROM "Director's Chair". She goes online mainly to send emails but she also likes to snoop around and see what people have been saying about her and has several times walked in on some talking about her but she never reveals her identity. Jennifer also enjoys hiking, camping and anything else that gets her closer to nature.
