Neve Adrianne Campbell

Biography

Neve was born in Guelph (located 100km west of Toronto), Ontario, Canada on October 3 1973. Gerry Campbell (father) a drama teacher, and Marnie Neve (mother) a psychologist who now runs a yoga studio. Her parents divorced when she was 2 years old :( and she moved to Toronto with her father where she grew up. She has an 18 month old brother Christian and two younger half brothers: Damian McDonal and Alex McDonald (youngest). She was married to Jeff Colt on April 3 1995 and finalized the divorce on November 6. Neve is 166cm (5'5 1/2"), weighs 55kg (123 lbs.), her natural hair colour is brown and so are her eyes.

She started dancing at age 6 following a visit with her father to see "The Nutcracker" and at age 9 she began training with the National Ballet School of Canada. She has been trained in 6 different varieties of dance, including jazz, flamenco, modern, hiphop and calssical ballet. She has performed in "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Nutcracker" with the National Ballet of Canada. She spent 2 months in the modelling business following a discovery by a talent scout, but she found it shallow and quit.

She then turned to acting, her first being a commercial for Eaton Center, a mall in Canada. Later came her debut in "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Pantages Theater in Toronto, where she performed in over 800 shows. She liked the theatre because she got an automatic response from the audience. It was here tha she met Jeff Colt, her future husband.

 

In the daytime she was a daycare teacher. They moved in together in 1990 when she was 17, about a year after she met him. After a long engagement they married on April 3rd, 1995 in England Westminster Cathedral near Wimbledon. They then spent their honeymoon in Paris, Venice and Zurich and settled down to live in her recently aquired 3-bedroomhouse in Laurel Canyon in Hollywood Hills near Los Angeles, California. Neve married Jeff Colt for 2 and a half years. On July 30, 1997, they announced their separation, and Jeff moved out. In October 1997 she officially requested a divorce from Jeff. On November 6 he filed to finalize the divorce.

Neve moved to Los Angeles, California to quote "I wanted to go out there and throw my name around and see what happens," Campbell says, and, of that, she landed her role on FOX's Party of Five as Julia Salinger, a TV drama about five children who are surviving on their own without their parents in which of whom were killed in a car accident. Then, Neve got her big movie role as Bonnie in The Craft, and later got roles in Scream and Scream 2. Both were box office hit surprises that boosted Neve's career, and now she's crowned as a "Scream Queen."
