Lt. Kilgore, the best tank driver of the army, is beaten by ace female test pilot, Elle Kusomoto, in the first demonstration of the advanced personal battletank, the MADOX. Kilgore vows revenge against the MADOX to rid it from the face of the earth. During transportation of the MADOX, the unit is lost after an accident occurs. Koji Sujimoto, a second-year engineering student, is curious as to what the unit is. He pushes a button, and the unit expands into the MADOX. Before finishing the operating manual, Koji hops into the MADOX. Then, the hatch closes and traps Koji inside. Just before going to work on the MADOX, Koji's friend tells him that his girlfriend made a date at 8:00 p.m. Koji must meet with her tonight or he will lose her because she is leaving the country in a foreign-exchange program. It is now 7:00 p.m., and he still has to make it across town. Elle decides to go after the MADOX unit to save Tokyo from Lt. Kilgore. Eventually she meets up with Koji, but Lt. Kilgore is still on a wild rampage. Koji's life lays in hands, and time means everything. Not only does he have to get to his girlfriend in time, but he must defend himself from the crazed Kilgore. But Kilgore will stop at nothing until the MADOX is destroyed.
