Okay, Malthus was a pretty good sized man, and he must weigh roughly the same as the chest or the switch out would never have worked without setting off the alarms. So how can Autolycus counterweight the chest when he's letting it down?

In the pressure point fight in the cave, the chakram is pointy side out, but when Centeres goes for Xena's thigh it's squares. Then, when she talks to Autolychus, it's pointy again.
