Lifetime's Soapy Divas
Lauralee Bell (Christine, The Young and the Restless), Finola Hughes (Anna, All My Children) and Erika Slezak (Viki/Niki, One Life to Live) are all upcoming subjects of Lifetime Television's Intimate Portrait series.
First up is Finola Hughes (June 17), who chats about her early days as an original cast member of the long-running musical Cats in London, her surprise firing from General Hospital (where she first played Anna Devane) and her recent success on AMC. Interviews include former ABC Daytime President Angela Shapiro, AMC executive producer Jean Dadario Burke, AMC co-star Kelly Ripa (Hayley) and fellow soap star Linda Dano (Rae, OLTL).
On July 8, Erika Slezak discusses her 30-year run on OLTL, the suicide of her father, actor Walter Slezak and her work with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
In Lauralee Bell's portrait (July 29), she talks about how she struggled to disprove rumors of nepotism when her father, Y&R creator/executive producer William J. Bell, hired her to play Christine. The happily married actress also reminisces about her dating life as a single and discusses her L.A. clothing boutique. Interviews include Y&R co-stars Doug Davidson and Laura Bryan Birn (Paul and Lynne), parents Bill and Lee Phillip Bell as well as husband Scott Martin.
