Bruce came to a St. Louis Waldenbooks to promote his book, If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor. He signed for over 4 hours. He was fantastic and still really great, even after hours of signing. Meeting him did nothing to change my admiration for him.
The people in front of us in line brought a chainsaw for Bruce to sign. And he did so without the slightest hint of surprise. I'm thinking that very little surprises him anymore. One woman also asked about another Evil Dead movie. I told my friend, Carrie, that I was sure Bruce would have a smart aleck answer. And he did. He said something along these lines: "Hmm. I need to think about this one. I've never been asked that before." And he left it at that. He was also such a good sport that he talked to several absent fans on the cell phones of the present fans. In the picture I have, he's talking to the mother of one of the people in front of us.
