4/10/97- Many of you probably saw Darren in his role as Lt. Meade in Steven Spielburg's "Amistad." His most recent project has been the "The HiLo Country". Darren stars opposite Woody Harrelson and Billy Crudup in this drama about men returning to their farms after serving in WWII and the hardships they faced. Although this movie has not yet been released, I have been told that Siskel and Ebert have mentioned it on their show and say that it is fantastic.
Darren also starred in the movie "Naked in the Cold Sun", which was directed by Helen Udy and was shot in Los Angeles. Sources say that Darren delivers an incredible and powerful performance as Allard, a recovering drug addict who becomes romantically involved with a woman who also has problems with drug use. The movie is dark and dramatic, much like "Leaving Las Vegas" which starred Nicholas Cage and Elizabeth Shue. "Naked in the Cold Sun" is currently in post production and I have been unable to find a release date thus far. I will post more information here as soon as it becomes available!
Although somewhat belated, all of Darren's fans would like to send out a big congratulations to Darren and his wife on the birth of their third son last year! We wish your family health, love and happiness in thefuture!
