My Best Friend's Wedding

Rupert Everett: 50% and not nearly enough!

An odd one this, leaving a strange aftertaste as to the moral of the story. Julia Roberts' character seems too warped to sympathise with and her rival Cameron Diaz is far too sweet to hate. Enter Rupert as the film's saviour. It was even re-cut to give him more screen time after initial audience reactions. As Julia's gay friend (and surely current Best Friend?) Rupert outperforms everyone. Admittedly he does get most of the best lines but his delivery is spot-on with a dry amusement at Julia's antics.
