Neil Pearson: 90%

Dave Charnley: womanizer, gambler and all-round charmer. As the Lothario of the Globelink newsroom, Neil made women all over the UK suddenly take notice of the bloke with "that certain something". Think of a British Cheers in terms of cast and standard of script and you get some idea how great this series was. High points are the Christmas Party in Series one, the one where Dave and Henry gyrate in leather (daffodils were involved so it must have been a spring episode!) and paintballing.

Sadly DTDD is no more, but watch out for repeats, especially on the cable channels.

• Extras: The series' name refers to when a news item is dropped from a bulletin before going to air. It was going to be Drop The Dead Belgians but they thought there would be complaints.
