Jack Davenport: 20%

This is a bad case of the BBC rummaging through the costume department and producing a drama out of their finds. Admittedly Jack does wear britches but this is scant reward for having to sit through 4 hours of drivel. The heroine runs around screaming and flouncing, the mystery isn't much of one if you have a brain cell which she clearly doesn't and Derek Jacobi looks embarrassed to be involved in such a shambles. A lazy painting-by-numbers period drama. Don't bother!
