As a sidenote, in connection to Rocky, I first saw it in 1997 I think and immediately fell in love with it, definitely my thing. I was a video-virgin (as the term goes I believe) but was recruited to play Magenta (well, I'd have murdered anyone trying to keep me from playing the part) at the Blue Sea Film Festival in Rauma, Finland, so I sort of came at it backwards.
In any case, I was still the person who knew it most by heart when the time to perform came, most into it and probably the most accurately dressed, too, since we'd only had a few weeks to prepare for it. The other performers were also a bit young, and worried about what the people who know them would think if they went for the corsets and high-heels big time, which is a no-no way of thinking in connection to RHPS. We did what we could, with limited resources. Most people in the audience didn't have a clue as to what the show was all about, anyway, since RHPS isn't very known in Finland. Hoping to change that one day. :)
Still remember the whistles I got from the audience (around 200 people?), too, by the way, as I stepped out in my stockings and domestic's costume, definitely loved it. If there's a Riff-Raff or a Frank out there to play fellow Transylvanian with me, apply in the Guestbook. ;) The first time I actually saw a "proper" screening of Rocky was in London, when an Australian housemate of mine (Jenny, where are you now?!?!) and I went to see it at the Prince Charles Cinema , again dressed up as Magenta (though my hair fell flat and turned out looking more like Janet's).
I also got to do the Timewarp again in the
Circus of Horrors parties when I stayed in London. Also try out
Schlock horror if you want to read more about COH, though take it with a grain of salt. It can be just as much fun as Rocky Horror Picture Show, trust me. :)
