Hair: For the moment, a bit over shoulder length, bleached blonde, lighter than my original hair colour light-golden-mousey-brown (?). Usually wear it up on a ponytail or a topknot of a sort.


Where I study and what:
I am studying at Helsingin liiketalouden AMK, here in Helsinki, Finland. It's Helia for short, or Helsinki International Polytechnic as I believe it was called in English. I may eventually become a Bachelor of Business Information Technology in 3,5 years' time. The school's webpage is HERE. And I wasn't even cheating on those ;) (Just how exactly do you cheat on an IQ test, anyway, come to think of it?) On the contrary, I was tired and not my usual sharp Nyksie when I did the tests. Hmmmh. Like knowing I might do better, slightly disappointed though it's higher than average. So yeah, just call me a show-off. ;)

Hobbies: I'm not going into details here as most of my interests are listed elsewhere here. I'd just like to mention some of those interests generally regarded as hobbies,too.
I like to spend a lot of my time using the Internet and computers, also in my free time. I like reading and earlier on I used to read even more, when I had more time. I'm into movies, TV (along the lines of my other interests), comics, and all the rest of the stuff you can find linked to my pages. ;) I am also interested in acting and martial arts. I did acting for around 3 years from when I was 14 and after that I swapped to judo for 1,5 years. The last time I was performing in front of a larger audience was when I played Magenta from Rocky Horror Picture Show in front of around 200 people on the Blue Sea Film Festival in '97.
Unfortunately I caught the acting bug when I was 14, got to participate in the 5th (?) European children's theatre camp/meeting in Luxembourg the same summer, too, 200+ participants from all over Europe, kids aged 12-14 there for 2 weeks. Suppose I'm doomed for one of the many amateur theatres that are so common here in Finland, not having pursued it as a career or anything. :P If I could, I'd get back to it in an instant, I suppose, just been moving around too much the last few years to get involved with it.
I draw quite a lot and occasionally I get an inspiration for painting, too. Everything else I do is connected to other things mentioned here on my pages so get browsing. :)

Personality: I'm a pretty f***ed up weirdo inside but I'm not sure if it shows on the outside. I don't DO a lot of things as it is, I am more of a silent observer and thinker. As I've told people I meet, I am the quiet librarian type of person. ;) I don't talk a lot unless I get started on something I am interested in. Whenever I do decide to do something it usually throws off all those people around me who've gotten used to my quiet times, my passive nature. I get these off-times every now and then and after that I need a change, to do something (which others may call even radical?), use the energy I've gathered. I'm a bit reserved with strangers and I may even seem hostile at times, whether on IRC or in real life.
I love humor and like to throw in bad puns as comments to any conversation. I'm no good in arguments and generally dislike arguing. If I'm set in my ways and you are set in yours and neither will budge, I see no point in arguing.
In the Keirsey Temperament Sorter test I get the result of being an INTP. It basically means I'm an Introverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving kind of person, or in other words an analyzing git interested in nothing outside her own little word. ;) My current favorite in Personality Tests is ANSIR, which types me as the creative, emotional Evokateur.
My Enneagram type seems to be 5, with 4 a close second?

History: I was born in Laitila, a small hicktown in the South-Western parts of Finland (9000 inhabitants). I went to comprehensive school for the usual 9 years and after that into lukio, our equivalent of senior high, for 3 years. I wrote 4 Laudaturs and 2 Magna cum laudes in case anyone's interested. Laudaturs from Finnish, English, Swedish and French, the Magnas from Reaali (mixed stuff, I wrote History and one Geography question) and Mathematics. Other than that I studied German for around 2 years as well as Art, Psychology and Philosophy, beside the compulsory subjects.
After that I meant to spend over a year in Stockholm as an Au Pair but me and the family weren't right for each other (diplomatically put) so I came back after a month and spent a year unemployed. No work in hicktowns for people like me I suppose. Or anyone else for that matter.
Anyway... I spent 2 years fooling around in Satakunnan ammattikorkeakoulu, which was more business orientated than my current polytechnic/college, which largely meant that I was bored to death by the general commercial studies and despaired at the amount of time we spent on learning to use easy programs. The 2nd year didn't go well I fear... *sheepish look*
Frustrated to bits I left to London to work and "see the world" which I suppose I did. Stories about that time elsewhere. Somewhere around. Keep looking, scandals are always hidden well. ;)
Running out of money, 1 year 8 months later, I came back and drifted another few months in Laitila, suffering from a hideous culture shock, probably very depressed, too. Wouldn't know, I try not to think of the boring times too much. That's TRY, by the way, since I do get caught up in brooding every now and then. I couldn't get enough money together to get back to London so I figured I might as well study something again and maybe even finish this time, too. Provided I don't get frustrated again. Started on January 13th, 2000.
If all that up there makes me seem a drifter with no clue whatsoever where she's headed in her life I'd say you got the point. I'd much rather have an interesting life with weird choices in it than the usual school-university-work-family-divorce kind of life. So sue me. Didn't say it was easy, though, so "Don't try this at home, kids".
Oh, all you prospective employers... I'm very studious and hardworking and committed, ignore all the stuff I lied about up there. *halo and innocent look* Really, I am. Provided I find you interesting enough to bother with you. ;)
