The Charities That Catherine Is Involved In Or Associated With

For now, I have only links to each of these Charities.
Soon, I hope to do a little write up on each one so that you can read a little about them before you visit their site yourself.

The Children's Hospital of Los Angeles
One of the charities that Catherine gives her precious time to. It started in 1901 from a converted home with only four beds. Today it receives over 180,000 visits a year from children ranging in ages from newborn to 18. In addition to the care they give just like any other hospital, CHLA has received international recognition for its scientific research in the areas of pediatric cancer, genetics, neuroscience, cell biology, and immunology. The research in these areas have paved the way for many breakthroughs in fighting many childhood diseases.

The Buoncontti Foundation
Another charity that Catherine devotes here precious time to. In 1985, Marc Buoncontti became paraliyzed due to a football injury. His parents prmised him that he would one day walk again and to that end, founded the Buoncontti Fund and with others help found the Miami Project To Cure Paralysis. The research paid for by the fund is "exacting and expensive" and is redeeming the Buoncontti's promise to their son one research hour at a time.

Take A Chance With The Stars
Take A Chance With The Stars is a yearly fundraising event for the benefit of the American Cancer Society. The event includes several celebrities from all walks of Hollywood Society and beyond. The main drive of the event is the auction which include anything and everything you could think of to auction off in order to raise money to further the research of the Society. Fundraising is important to any Non-profit organization, but especially for the ACS because it has never accepted any Government funds. To quote the Take a Chance Page itself about the ACS, "The Society is the premier cancer control agency in the United States. Since 1913, it has provided funds for research, education, screenings, and direct services for cancer patients and their families."
