BOLD & BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN

Deacon  Sharpe (Sean  Kanan)

Sean Kanan stars as the devilish Deacon Sharp, an unscrupulous character who was discovered by the Forresters to be the real father of Little Eric on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Sean was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania. From his early teens, Sean knew he wanted to become an actor. While attending Boston University as a Political Science major, Sean took outside acting classes and sought work in locally-filmed television shows. He landed a role in an episode of Spenser: For Hire, and transferred to UCLA to pursue acting full time.
It didn't take long for Sean to build up a string of credits in film and television. He is probably best known so far for his work as A.J. Quartermaine on General Hospital. In addition, Kanan starred as Jude Cavanaugh in Sunset Beach and in several other television productions, including Francis Ford Coppola's The Outsiders and two Perry Mason mysteries. He has also made guest appearances on such popular shows as VIP, The Nanny, Walker, Texas Ranger, Lois and Clark, Who's the Boss?, and Oliver Stone's Wild Palms.
In feature films, Kanan portrayed Mike Barnes in Karate Kid III and had roles in other films including Chump Change, Rich Girl, and Oasis Cafe, a short film co-starring Gary Busey that Sean also wrote and produced.
Kanan also recently starred in the HBO world premiere movie The Chaos Factor, co-starring Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Fred Ward. Crash Point Zero, another HBO film co-starring Treat Williams, will be premiered in early 2001.
Kanan has also taken on theatrical roles, including starring as Austin in Sam Shepard's True West as the Zephyr in Los Angeles and in Irish Coffee at the Burbage, also in Los Angeles.
When not on the set of B&B, Sean enjoys honing his martial arts skills, writing poetry, plays and screenplays and performing stand-up at The Comedy Store, The Improv, Dangerfield's and Catch a Rising Star. As a guest of Secretary of Defense, William Cohen, he joined Christie Brinkley, Al Franken and others who traveled to Bosnia and Kosovo during the 1999 Christmas holiday to entertain the U.S. troops.
Sean currently resides in Los Angeles with his dog Max and celebrates his birthday on November 2. He has dark blond hair and blue-green eyes.
