Elly Kedworth was acused of witch craft in 1785. She was found guilty and banished in the middle of winter. What the towns people did was they blind folded her took her out into the wood tied her to a tree and left her. In book of shaddows it is mentioned that the children came back and hung her. This is debateable. After a year passes all of her accusers and half the town's childern vanish fearing a curse the people left as soon as the weather broke.
