Eiken:Tasuki! Tasuki has the character on his body!
Narrator: The leader of the bandits, Eiken...told Miaka of the existence of the fifth Seishi, Tasuki. The excitement of the news was cut short, when Genrou kidnapped her. Miaka was told that, while Genrou was gone, Eiken made himself Leader. She decided to go with Genrou into the enemy encampment. Genrou retrieved the Tessen, aided by the illusion of Tamahome, called forth by Miaka. It was Tamahome who defeated Eiken and his men.
Episode 15
Return From the City of Death
Keisuke: ``The thieves sincerely apologized to the Suzaku no Miko.''
Keisuke: ``The Miko accepted graciously.''
Miaka: Please, is someone named Tasuki here?
Miaka: If you're here, please come with me.
Guy: Tasuki?
Guy2: Eiken, you know him, don't you?
Eiken: No, to tell ya the truth, I don't know who it is.
Genrou: I know.
Miaka: Really?! Tell me!
Genrou: Don't be disappointed.
Genrou: Tasuki was our former Leader.
Genrou: He's no longer among the living.
Miaka: Tasuki died?
Genrou: It's too bad, but a dead person can't come back.
Nuriko: Hotohori-sama.
Miaka: What'll I do?
Kouji: Say, Genrou, when dawn comes...
Kouji: ...why don't we go pay our respects to the former Leader.
Genrou: Leader.
Miaka: What'll I do now? If even one Seishi is missing, Suzaku won't appear.
Miaka: And Tamahome...
(flashback)
Tamahome: When they're all gathered, I'll come back.
Nuriko: Hotohori-sama, what should we do about not having Tasuki?
Hotohori: But we can't revive a dead man.
Guy: Hey, Leader...
Guy: ...I've heard something.
Genrou: What?
Guy: In Choukou, to the north, there's someone who can raise the dead.
Miaka: What?! Mister, are you serious?!
Guy: Uh, it's just a rumor.
Miaka: Then I'm going to Choukou.
Both: Miaka.
Miaka: I'll cling to even a 1% chance.
Miaka: I've got to keep trying! But before that...
Miaka: A bowl of rice, please.
Miaka: Bye everybody! Good luck! (leaves)
Genrou: They're gone.
Kouji: That girl is either pure or stupid.
Genrou: She messed up our way of doing things.
Genrou: We totally forgot we're bandits.
Genrou: We even fed her.
Kouji: That's okay, now that you're Leader, we're all relieved.
Kouji: Suzaku no Miko, eh? You want to go with her, don't ya?
Genrou: Don't be a moron. I'm the Leader.
Genrou: I wouldn't go against our previous Leader's will, and leave.
Genrou: Above all else, I abhor women.
Kouji: Are ya sure? (walks off, with Genrou following, Genrou stops, he is apparantly thinking about what Kouji said)
Hotohori: Miaka, here... water from the river.
Hotohori: It's cold and fresh.
Miaka: Thank you.
Hotohori: Are you looking at Tamahome's letter?
Miaka: Y...yes.
Hotohori: It'll be okay. You'll see him soon.
Hotohori: It's some distance to Choukou.
Hotohori: Conserve your strength, and try to stay healthy.(leaves, Nuriko come out from his eavesdropping position behind the tree)
Nuriko: What can I say? I pity Hotohori-sama.
Nuriko: Though you love Tamahome, he still loves you madly.
Miaka: Nuriko, you're not angry?
Nuriko: Of course, it shocked me about Hotohori's feelings...
Nuriko: ...but I know when I've lost.
Nuriko: I would've never had a chance, even if I was a woman.
Nuriko: So how could I be angry.
Nuriko: I'm not a jealous woman.
Miaka: You're lying. (Nuriko smiling but is hurting Miaka)
Miaka: (thinking)But Hotohori really thinks that much of me.
Miaka: Tamahome, I wonder what you're doing.
Miaka: As it is now, Yui is the one who's always with him.
Yui: Tamahome...Tamahome...
Tamahome: Yui? (Yui is sitting at Tamahome's bed wearing a shirt.. Tamahome was asleep)
Yui: Good, you're still here.
Yui: I dreamed you went back to Miaka.
Yui: I got nervous.
Tamahome: No, when I leave here, I'll take you too.
Tamahome: You just have to believe in Miaka, and wait.
Yui: That's true.
Lady: Yui-sama, Lord Nakago wants you.
Yui: Okay, I'll be right there. I'll ask for food to be brought immediately.
Tamahome: Yeah, sorry to be a bother.(Yui leaves)
Tamahome: Food. Miaka may be eating right now.
Tamahome: When will I see your smile again?
Yui: (talking to some guy) I see. The Seishi, Tasuki, is already dead.
Ninja: So it appears. The Suzaku no Miko is on her way to Choukou.
Ninja: There's a man there who can raise the dead.
Nakago: That means they're having a rough time gathering the Seishi.
Yui: They can try all they want. Okay, continue watching them.
(a very run down looking town, and man with a cart that has a dead body on it rushes past)
Guy: Hey, get outta the way!
Hotohori: What deplorable conditions.
Nuriko: Miaka, look at the mirror!
Miaka: It means one of Suzaku Seishi is in this village.
Miaka: Maybe it's the one that has the ability to heal.
Miaka: Yes! Get two birds with one stone!
Miaka: Alright! (pumps her arms in excitement, successfully hitting a young woman in the process)
Miaka: I'm sorry!
Miaka: Are you all right?
Shoka: Yes...excuse me. I was a bit absent-minded.
Nuriko: You're really all right? You're not hurt?
Shoka: No.
Nuriko: Oh, geez. Our Miaka is still such a kid.
Shoka: No,that's not true.
Shoka: Your daughter is darling.
Nuriko: No, no...you're mistaken.
(Miaka steps behind Shoka and feels her chest)(They're real)
Hotohori: Miaka!
Miaka: But I was fooled twice. I wondered if she was really a woman.
Nuriko: Again, I'm so sorry!
(Miaka is carrying Shoka on her back)
Shoka: I apologize for this.
Miaka: I'm fine. Where do you want to be taken?
Guy: Shoka-san.
Guy2: Good, you've come.
Shoka: This one?
Guy: He's been ill a long time. He just died.
Shoka: Don't worry, leave him to me.
(Shoka kisses (??) the man, and he stirs and wakes up)
Miaka: He's alive again.
Hotohori: What is this?
Guy: It's great.
Guy: There's been an unknown disease plaguing this area for some time.
Guy: High fevers and excruciating pain that's worse than death.
Guy: It's been referred to as the demon, Shikkonki.
Guy: Our physicians have no cure for it.
Hotohori: Shikkonki.
Guy: Shoka-san cannot cure the disease, but can raise the dead.
Guy: She returns them to the way they used to be.
Guy: There's such pain, we'd rather die, and let her raise us again.
Nuriko: Great, Miaka...
Nuriko: We should ask her...(Miaka has Shoka pinned in a corner)
Miaka: Shoka-san! Would you come with me please?!
Miaka: We've got someone for you to bring back to life!
Shoka: Forgive me, I really want to, but I'm unable to leave this village.
Shoka: I can't leave the people here, and I can't leave this village either.
Shoka: I'll lose my ability if I take even a single step outside this village.
Miaka: Okay. Then I'll bring Tasuki here.
Miaka: I'll ask Gen-chan and the others to bring his coffin.
(travelling)
Nuriko: This's a graveyard.
Hotohori: We've gone the wrong way. We'd better return to the village.
Miaka: There's no time. We've got to get Tasuki as soon as possible...
Hotohori: Miaka, what's the matter?! Hang on!
Miaka: I'm okay.
Miaka: I feel hot.
Hotohori: A fever! It's bad! Let's get her back to the village!
Zombi: Give me meat.
Zombi: I won't let you leave this village.
Zombi: You are meat. Let us eat your meat.
(Nuriko's horse gets sucked into the ground by Zombies)
Hotohori: Nuriko!
Hotohori: Miaka, run for it! Miaka!
Genrou: Lekka Shinen!(fire kills a bunch of Zombies)
Genrou: I figured somethin' like this'd happen.
Miaka: Gen-chan!
Genrou: I'll take care of 'em in a second. Lay flat on the ground!
Genrou: Lekka Shinen!
Genrou: Tell ya what, I wasn't plannin' on comin'.
Genrou: But then, I figured ya couldn't do it on yer own.
Hotohori: Genrou.
Genrou: We talked it over and Kouji's become the new Leader.
Genrou: Guess the former Leader'll forgive me.
Miaka: Why?
Genrou: Ya moron, you still don't know?
Genrou: Genrou's my nickname.
Genrou: (shows Miaka the symbol on his arm) I'm Tasuki. Sorry to deceive you.
Nuriko: Why didn't you tell us sooner, pea brain?!
Hotohori: Damn you, you put us through all of this!
Tasuki: Nothin' I could do about it.
Tasuki: I had to take my position as Leader.
Tasuki: I couldn't ignore the will of the previous Leader.
Tasuki: But then, Kouji and the rest told me I could go.
Miaka: I see. Thanks for joining us.
Miaka: Now we have five. (Miaka gets all sick and weak and fainting like)
Tasuki: Miaka!
Nuriko: Miaka, what's wrong?!
Hotohori: It can't be...
Guy: There's been an unknown disease plaguing this area for some time.
Guy: High fevers and excruciating pain that's worse than death.
Nuriko: Could it be Shikkonki?
Hotohori: Find my horse! Let's waste no time getting her to the village.
Hotohori: Shoka-san, can you cure Miaka?
Hotohori: She may have the disease caused by the evil spirit.
(back at Shoka's)
Shoka: I'm unable to do anything for that.
Shoka: My ability is to raise the dead.
Shoka: If Miaka-san dies, I can do something.
Tasuki: We have to let Miaka die? Can't you do anything else?
Miaka: I'll be okay.
Hotohori: Miaka.
Miaka: There must be doctors in this village.
Miaka: It may be impossible, but why don't we try?
(has new clothes on)
Tamahome: It's silk.
Yui: It looks good on you.
Yui: You look great.
Yui: I knew black would look good on you.
Nakago: Yui-sama.
Nakago: I'm sorry to disturb you.
Nakago: I have interesting news for you.
Nakago: The Suzaku no Miko has fallen ill.
Nakago: It's an incurable, fatal disease.
Yui: (thinking) Miaka!
Yui: Why are you upset, Yui? She deserves to go through this.
Yui: If Miaka didn't exist, Tamahome would've been mine.
(at some doctors place)
Miaka: Hey, you're refusing me?! Are you really a doctor?!
Doctor: No matter what you say, the cause is Shikkonki.
Doctor: Wait. Myojuan may be able to cure it.
Miaka: Where is he now?
Doctor: He left a year ago to live in the mountains.
Doctor: So get out! I don't wanna catch that damned disease!
Tasuki: You friggin' quack!
Miaka: But we learned something. Let's find Mr. Myojuan.
Miaka: It's so hard... I may not make it.
Miaka: We still have to find two more Seishi.
Miaka: How will I do it?
Shoka: You'll be okay. Hang on.
Miaka: Shoka-san.
Miaka: Could Shoka-san be the sixth Seishi?
Guy: Fish! Fish! How about some fish?! (a fish drops to the ground, Miaka dives for it, at the same time a man tried to get it)
Miaka: Hands off the fish! It's mine! (they proceed to fight over the fish)
Tasuki: She's brawlin' with that giant over a damned fish.
Nuriko: Oh great. She's weak, but her appetite gets her blood moving.
Hotohori: She's become so energetic. How admirable.
Nuriko: Shoka-san, you look pale.
Shoka: It's nothing. I'm tired, so I need to go back.
Shoka: Please come back later.
Guy: Got it!
Miaka: Taking food from an invalid isn't humble! (runs after him)
Hotohori: Miaka!
(Miaka stops and rests)
Miaka: I'm worn out.
(she notices a small house)
Miaka: That's the place.
Nuriko: Are you okay, Miaka, after running that much?
Tasuki: Damn, are you really sick?
Miaka: YOU'RE SURROUNDED!
Miaka: COME OUT WITH MY FISH!
Miaka: REPEAT!
Miaka: YOU'RE SURROUNDED!
Miaka: COME OUT WITH MY FISH!
Hotohori: I'll take a look.
Hotohori: So many medicines.
Hotohori: Could this be that guy, Myojuan, that we were told of?!
Tasuki: Hey old man, are you Myojuan?
Tasuki: If ya are, would ya check this girl?
Hotohori: Please. Because of the disease, she's very weak.
Miaka: Mister, I'm begging you. I'll forget about the fish.
Miaka: It looked delicious, but I'll give it up.
Myojuan: I quit being a doctor long ago. Leave.
Nuriko: What? You still take care of animals!
Myojuan: I'm not concerned with humans! Leave!
Myojuan: Leave!
Tasuki: A'right, a'right!
Tasuki: Ya creep, we were just askin'!
(Miaka drops)
Hotohori: Miaka, is it getting worse?!
Miaka: I can't control my legs.
Hotohori: Miaka.
Miaka: Why? He looked so kind.(passes out)
Hotohori: Miaka!
Nuriko: Miaka! Hang on!
Tasuki: Quit pretendin' ta sleep! Geddup!
Tasuki: Shit! Can't we do anything?
Nuriko: To continue in this condition is torture.(Miaka is lying in a bed)
Hotohori: It's bad. I don't want her to struggle.
Shoka: There's only one way.
Shoka: Kill her right now.
Shoka: If I revive her immediately, she'll regain her health.
Tasuki: You can't do that!
Miaka: (apparantly she heard the conversation) It's okay. I can't find the other Seishi if I'm like this.
Miaka: I want to be comfortable. So, please?
Miaka: I won't be able to see Tamahome and Yui.
Miaka: Please?
Keisuke: ``The Suzaku no Miko had fallen ill and was in excruciating pain.''
Keisuke: ``Shoka said that the only way to save her was to kill her.''
Hotohori: Everyone, would you leave us?
Tasuki: Hey!
Hotohori: I'll kill her. (after a bit of hesitation Nuriko, Shoka and Tasuki leave)
Miaka: I'm sorry, Hotohori, to put you through this.
Miaka: I want to be skewered, because I like yakitori.
Miaka: 1, 2, 3...then stab me with your sword as quick as you can.
