Mitsukake: Saving as many lives as possible! That's a doctor's purpose!
Woman: Shoka! Shoka! Shoka, hang on...
Mitsukake: What's the matter?
Mitsukake: Dammit. I've run out of medicine...!
Woman: Doctor!
Mitsukake: Let's have her drink this holy water.
Mitsukake: I may not have the power to heal anyone anymore...
Mitsukake: Even this water may not...
Mitsukake: But if I put all of my life force into this...
(Mitsukake's sends his ki out)
Chichiri: Don't! Stop it, Mitsukake!(Chichiri grabs onto Mitsukake)
(All of Mitsukake's ki leaves him and goes into the people around him)(Mitsukake dies)
(The soldiers who's lives Mitsukake saved by dieing get up and begin to fight)
Kutou Soldier: You son of a bitch!
Konan Soldier: Bastard!
Chichiri: Get back! (Chichiri has his mask off and he is crying, he screams at the soldiers)
Chichiri: I won't allow you bastards to do with your lives as you wish in front of me!
Chichiri: It's unforgivable!
Chichiri: Leave! And leave fast!
Narrator: Mitsukake burned out his life. Meanwhile, in the world of reality...Miaka and Tamahome had to fight Suboshi, who had also come out of the book.

Cop: Out of the way! Get back!
Cop: Where's the fight?!
Woman: Over there, officers! Those two have been at it...
Suboshi: Don't squirm around and run away, Tamahome!
Miaka: Tamahome! Run away, or you'll get killed!

Suboshi: Get the hell out of my way! (Pushes the Cop down)
Suboshi: Don't think you can escape, Tamahome.
Suboshi: Go after him. Chase him, until you ventilate him with holes.
Tamahome: A new trick? At this rate, I won't last long!
Tamahome: In that case...
Miaka: Suboshi!
Miaka: Stop it! Doing this won't save Yui from anything!
Suboshi: You're still hanging around? You seem to want to die.
Keisuke and Tetsuya: Miaka, let's get outta here!
Miaka: You two, run!
Tamahome: Suboshi! (jumps over Suboshi in order to have Suboshi's ryuuseisui kill him)
Miaka: Tamahome!
Suboshi: Idiot!
Suboshi: You want to make my Ryuuseisui hit me?
Suboshi: I saw that tactic a mile away!
(Suboshi's arms and legs are held in place by 4 young children, Tamahome's siblings)
Suboshi: What the hell?!
Tamahome: Chuei...Gyokuran... Shunkei...Yuiren...
(The Ryuuseisui puncture Suboshi's stomach, and he falls, clutching Yui's uniform bow.)
Suboshi: Yui...sama..
Suboshi: Ani...ki...
(Suboshi disappears)
Miaka: He disappeared...
Miaka: Tamahome!
Keisuke: Tamahome!
(In the book, Kaika (Amiboshi) looks up)
Mother: What's the matter, Kaika?
Amiboshi: Well...pain in my chest...
Amiboshi: Suddenly...
Amiboshi: It's as though I had the shock of having half of me ripped away.
Amiboshi: No, it's the opposite.
Amiboshi: It's more like the half of me that was lost has come back.
Amiboshi: Why? It's weird.
Amiboshi: I'm all right, now... Dad, Mom.
Father: I see.
Father: Speaking of losing something, Konan and Kutou are currently at war.

(Kouji and Tasuki are fighting in the war, against some soldier guys)

Tasuki: Of course! I'm not lettin' somethin' like this get me!
(Tasuki looks up)

Tasuki: I can't see Lord Hotohori anywhere.
(Hotohori is talking to Nakago)
Hotohori: You're the general of the Kutou army...
Hotohori: ...no, you're Seiryuu Seishi, Nakago, right?
Nakago: Indeed. And you're the 4th Emperor of Konan, Saihitei...
Nakago: No. I should address you as Hotohori, a Suzaku Seishi.
Nakago: I'm impressed that the monarch of a country would come out here on his own.
Nakago: To think, going through the trouble of throwing your life away...
Nakago: If you had just remained in your palace, you could have avoided any mishaps...
Nakago: Our army will now withdraw.
Hotohori: What?!
Nakago: All of Kutou's military, both at sea and on land, are concentrated here.

(Hotohori charges at Nakago)

Hotohori: Suzaku...! Give me power...!(Gets knocked away by a ki blast, but manages to puncture Nakago's armor with his sword)
Hotohori: Mi...aka...Miaka...
Keisuke: What's wrong, Miaka?
Miaka: Nothing. I just felt as though somebody was calling me...
Keisuke: He suffered major bruises and internal bleeding.
Keisuke: At least none of his bones are broken.
Miaka: Tamahome...
Miaka: We can't return him to the book like this, right?
Miaka: Right? Right?!
Tetsuya: (talking to Mrs. Yuuki) I'm sorry, ma'am. My friend got drunk.
Tetsuya: Why the hell am I apologizing?
Miaka: Since Yui wished for it, I can't go back into ``The Universe of the Four Gods.''
Miaka: If Tamahome goes back in the book, we'll never meet again.
Miaka: But...but...!
Miaka: Inside the book, right now, everyone's...
Miaka: What should I do?
Tetsuya: Miaka...
Tetsuya: ...could I have a word with you?
Tetsuya: It's ``The Universe of the Four Gods.''
Tetsuya: I read it just now and...
Tetsuya: ...Mitsukake died.
Tetsuya: Hotohori's about to die from his injuries as well.(Miaka is shocked)

(Hotohori is on his back, all cut and beat up, with the remaining Seishi, and Kouji kneeling by him)
Hotohori: Miaka...
Hotohori: Miaka's voice... from the sky...
Miaka: Hotohori, Tasuki, Chichiri?!
Miaka: Can you hear me? It's me!
Tasuki: It's for real! Miaka, what're you doin' now?
Miaka: I'm sorry...
Miaka: I'm sorry...but... I can't come back anymore!
Miaka: I can't come back!
Hotohori: Miaka...Kutou's army withdrew...
Hotohori: ...Konan's all right, now.
Miaka: What?
Hotohori: Just one regrettable thing...
Hotohori: ...I couldn't defeat him..
Hotohori: Couldn't even slow him down...
Miaka: ``Him?'' Who's, ``Him?''
Hotohori: Please tell Tamahome...
Hotohori: ...he's probably the only one... who can defeat him...
Chichiri: Hotohori-sama, don't talk!
Miaka: Hotohori, don't! Don't you dare die!
Miaka: What...what'll happen to Houki?!
Hotohori: Oh...that's right...
Hotohori: Houki...is waiting for me...
Hotohori: My child... until I see his face...
Hotohori: ...I won't die...
Miaka: Hotohori...
Miaka: That's right...You'll probably have a good-looking son someday...
Miaka: That's why...
Hotohori: Miaka...let's all meet again someday...
Hotohori: We'll surpass the boundaries of time and worlds...and probably meet again...
Hotohori: (takes out the picture that was taken before the trip to Hokkan, it is slightly dirty, but everyone is still visible) I was very happy... to have met all of you!
Hotohori: To have met you, Miaka...
Hotohori: Be happy...
Hotohori: ...Miaka!
(flashback to when Hotohori was little)
Hotohori: Suzaku no Miko? Who's that?
Manservant: It's an ancient legend that a character will appear on the neck of the crown prince.
Manservant: It signifies he's a protector of the Suzaku no Miko, who comes from another world.
Hotohori: Suzaku no Miko will appear... A girl from another world.
Hotohori: That girl may ease my loneliness.
Hotohori: She may love me for myself, not just as Emperor.
Hotohori: Surely...(end flashback)
Miaka: Hotohori...
Miaka: Hotohori...
Hotohori: I loved...
Hotohori: ...and became happy...(Hotohori dies)
Miaka: Liar...you... just died...
Miaka: ...you said you wouldn't die...
Miaka: Liar! (Miaka cries)
(Tamahome wakes up)
Keisuke: Are you awake?
Tamahome: Miaka... How's Miaka?
Keisuke: She's all right. She's just fine.
Tamahome: I see. That's great.
Keisuke: Tamahome, I'd like to ask you a favor...
Keisuke: ...without telling Miaka...
Keisuke: ...could you go back into the book alone?
Tamahome: Keisuke!
