Luigi Montefiori originally designed artwork for advertising agencies in Geona, Italy. In 1966, he moved to Rome to further his artistic career, yet became attracted to the film world through the people at his favorite hang-out. Luigi studied at the Experimental Film Studios for 18 weeks until he was offered a part in Mario Sequi's Il Cobra. It was here that he adopted the pseudonym George Eastman (the name was to disguise the Italian origin of the film.) Soon Luigi began acting in many Italian westerns. During the shooting of Amico, Stammi Lontano Almeno un Palmo, Luigi met Aristide (Joe D'Amato) Massaccesi. Their first collaboration was in 1974 for Massaccesi's Giubbe Rosse. Montefiori wrote the script and a long time collaboration was born. During the following years Montefiori would spend time writing screenplays while acting in a variety of genres including: westerns, horror, futuristic and peplum. In all of these films, Luigi's strong presence would steal the show. No matter what character he would portray, good or bad, you somehow were on his side. In 1989 Montefiori made his directorial debut with DNA Formula Letale. The film was produced by Massaccesi and was shot in Norfolk, Virginia. Montefiori's acting has become sparse nowadays, something he contributes to the birth of his daughter.

Fellini Satyricon ****
This stylistic take on the work by Petronius Arbiter, illustrates a "Felliniesque" version of Ancient Rome. Exquisite images, ideas and storytelling by the great Federico Fellini. Luigi appears as the Minotuar. I haven't seen this film in a long time and can't remember Luigi's part, yet I consider this film to be a cinematic masterpiece.

Cani Arrabbiati ***

Emanuelle e Francoise: Le Sorelline ***

Emanuelle - Perch violenza alle donne? **
This is my favorite Emanuelle film. Luigi Montefiori plays an East Indian "guru" who has discovered the path to the ultimate climax. This is the best looking entry from D'Amato's "Emanuelle nera" series and showcases the most exotic locations.

Antropophagus *
This is a tedious effort by Joe D'Amato. Luigi Montefiori plays a deformed killer on a remote Greek island. This notorious film features the famous scene where Luigi rips out Serena Grandi's fetus and devours it. In the book Spaghetti Nightmares, D'Amato mentions that is one of the most low-budget and unsuccessful films in his career (though he still went on to make a sequel!). This is one of the banned "video nasties" in England.

Le Dchanment Pervers de Manuela **
Another Joe D'Amato outing with Laura Gemser. Some sources mention this as the last entry in D'Amato's "Emanuelle nera" series, while others say this is not an Emanuelle film at all. The movie features exploitation faves: Gemser, Gabrielle Tinti and a short appearance by Luigi Montefiori. Despite the great cast and exotic locales, this is ultimately a forgettable movie. Some versions include hardcore inserts.

Le notti erotiche ***

Porno Holocaust **
This is the first Joe D'Amato film combining porn and horror. Luigi Montefiori plays one of the victims trapped on a Caribbean island plagued by a mutated monster. The beast has his way with the women, while mutilating the men. A film that does not live up to its shocking and curious meeting of genres.

Rosso Sangue **
Joe D'Amato's superior sequel to Antrophagus finds Niko Thanopolous (Luigi Montefiori) reeking havoc in a small American town. A priest attempts to kill the madman but only manages to send him to the hospital. The doctors soon discover that Niko has the gift of regenerating cells which makes him immortal. Before the priest can convince the police, Niko starts his manslaughter on nurses and the family of a bed-ridden little girl (played by a young Katya Berger). Some impressive gore effects and an overall improvement on the original.

La guerra del ferro: Ironmaster **
Umberto Lenzi directs this story of a clan of Barbarians who discover steel as a result of a volcanic eruption. Luigi Montefiori plays Vuud, a man who uses the metal discovery to form an indestructible sword. He then turns on his own clan because they will not allow him to become their new leader. An average film, and another case where Luigi steals the show and ends up the one you root for (even though he is the antagonist).

I Guerrieri del Bronx **
Enzo G. Castellari directs this once futuristic tale of the Bronx overtaken by gangs. A 17 year old girl who will one day inherit the arms manufacturing company, The Manhattan Corporation, runs away to live in the off-limits area of New York. She is taken in by a gang called the "Riders." She and her new friends must survive the police (sent in by her father), as well as warding off rival gangs. Luigi plays the leader of the "Zombies," a gang that looks like a bunch of safety conscious street-hockey players, who end up kidnapping the heiress. A goofy but likable movie, where the bad guys are more interesting than the supposed heroes.

2019 dopo la caduta di New York **
Sergio Martino directs this futuristic tale of New York gone awry. Micheal Sopkiw is called in to find the last fertile woman on the planet (who is hidden somewhere in Manhattan). Luigi Montefiori appears as "Big Ape," the leader of an underground clan of monkey-like creatures. Despite some laughable models of the city and animated laser beams, Martino delivers frantically edited action sequences, interesting lighting and set design, all backed with an eerie score.

I nouvi barbari *
Enzo G. Castellari directs this Road Warrior rip-off. A man named Scorpion tries to survive in a post-nuclear world. Luigi Montefiori plays the leader of the Templars (no relation to the "Blind Dead" Templars). This is a poorly written film. There are no interesting, let alone developed characters, there is no rising action, the pacing is off and the overall experience is boring. The only thing worth mentioning is Claudio Simonettis soundtrack.

Endgame - Bronx lotta finale **

Blastfighter **
Lamberto Bava directed this action pic during the Rambo film craze in the early eighties. Micheal Sopkiw stars as Tiger, an ex-cop who was kicked off the force for revenging his wife's murder. Trying to escape the past, Tiger moves out to where he was born and vows never to touch a gun again. He gets wrapped up in a feud with some local hicks who are employed by Tom (Luigi Montefiori). But soon the hicks go too far when they attack Tiger's daughter, Connie. The film is really good but loses it's edge when Tiger turns into the "blastfighter" at the end.

Vendetta dal futuro **

Detective School Drop-Outs ***
This is the first of two films starring the comedy team of Lorin Dreyfuss and David Landsberg. Wannabe private-eyes Paul Miller and Donald Wilson travel to Italy to save the kidnapped Caterina (played by Valerie Golino). Luigi appears as Bruno, the head henchman keeping the two from solving the case. I find this to be a very funny film!

The Barbarians & Co. (The Barbarians Brothers) **
Ruggero Deodato directs this tame but likable "peplum" featuring American bodybuilders David and Peter Paul (aka "The Barbarian Brothers"). The two twins are separated from their tribe as infants and are raised separately in the enemy's underground mine. When the two are older they are reunited and join forces to defeat the evil kingdom that imprisoned them. Luigi Montefiori appears briefly as Jacko, an arms dealer. Deodato gives us a marginally entertaining film, which does not display the talent he is capable of.

DNA Formula Letale *
Luigi Montefiori directs this film based on his original screenplay. The film tells the story of a college professor who is working on a formula to cause the regeneration of tissue. The faculty decides not to give the professor any more money unless they can see some of his work. So not having any luck with testing his serum on lab monkeys, the professor evidently seems confident enough to test it on himself. Of course things go very wrong and the serum starts a regressing process towards mans original state (according to this, mans original state is not as a primate, but as a dinosaur!?) Montefiori gives us a sloppily written, atrociously acted and awkwardly paced directorial debut. Laura Gemsers cameo as a prostitute is the only interesting part of the movie.
