Sage Date
Fanfic stereotypes have demanded that Sage is a shallow flirt and a womanizer. I beg to differ. I have seen no evidence on the show whatsoever that supports this way of thinking. As I studied his bio it left me wondering even more how some people could have come up with those conclusions about his personality.
Sage had a very strict upbringing. Both his father and grandfather taught him obedience and discipline and as a result Sage is very formal and proper. Personality wise, he is very serious and nonsensical. He doesn't talk much and rarely lets himself go except perhaps in cases when he and Rowen are alone. He usually dresses a notch above his friends but he's never showy or prideful. But in this, I did give into peer pressure slightly and allowed for a bunch of school girls to always been swooning over him and talking about him. Sage, however, does not appreciate this one bit and wishes they would all just leave him alone.
But despite all this, I snuck in another part of Sage that just may redeem his stiff demeanor. Sage has an artistic side, tucked snugly away inside of him where few people ever notice it's there. He enjoys writing and poetry and deep thought provoking concepts as well as music and paintings. He would never say that out loud, of course, not when the kendo master as a title to defend. He also loves to race and is unbeatable behind the wheel.
Sage doesn't like loud noises or disorganization--which breeds in abundance in his own noisy household. He usually retreats to Rowen's place for peace and quiet to do his homework and to think. I thought it quite fun to portray Sage as almost a parental figure for Rowen. Since our poor Strata is practically an orphan, Sage takes it upon himself to wake up Rowen every morning and make sure he gets to school. Sadly, Rowen's mother accepts that because she is too busy with her own job to deal with her parental responsibilities.
Also, I've noticed Sage's character has been freely granted with all kinds of different powers from extreme healing abilities to psychic powers to all kinds of things. Sage does have slight healing abilities as we have seen proof of from "Halo's Prison". As for psychic powers, I've given Sage not so much as a mystical ability as more of an over developed sixth sense which came from many years of strict training with his grandfather.
