Mulder and Scully investigates murders that revolve around a mysterious artifact believed to have a extraterrestrial origin. During the investigations, Krycek blackmailed Skinner to betray Mulder and Scully, so he could obtain the artifact. Meanwhile, a piece of paper with the artifact's symbols traced on it is affecting Mulder mentally. He was becoming clairvoyant, and it was driving him to the edge of sanity. While Mulder's been confined in a psychiatric ward because of the effects of the artifact, Scully continues to investigate deeper into the artifacts, and was on the verge of a BIG discovery......
